[b]Offence:[/b] Assaulting a superior officer, manslaughter. - Members of the military and/or protection forces often take advantage of their position to either hoard rations or dispense justice arbitrarily, and more serious offenses. Jack's commander was one of those. Jack stood by while his squad abused their power for long enough, until one day, the commander and the sergeant started threatening a family. The sergeant dragged a young girl off and was in the process of sexually assaulting her when Jack finally stepped in. He struck the sergeant, then put him in a sleeper hold, he didn't mean to, but he broke the man's neck. He also attacked the commander and broke his jaw and cheekbone. He was sentenced to death, but was given a reprieve when he was given the unexpected choice to participate in the return.
[b]History:[/b] Jack had always wanted to be in the military or police forces. His family was military all the way back to the American Wars on Terror. He was very close with his family, several siblings, and both parents are still alive. They were all upset when he was arrested, but their cries for appeal were hastily denied. 

In the Army he served as a communications specialist, working on the technology to search for life, and to study Earth from a distance. He was moved to the patrols when he started making discoveries about how the elite were hiding things from the public. He excelled in the patrols as well, arresting a high number of criminals, and dealing successfully with a host of emergency maintenance problems, like hull breaches and air filteration system meltdowns. He was loyal and proud to serve, until the incident.

[b]Other:[/b] Jack is tall, 6'3, a bit quite, until someone needs to step up to fill a leadership role. He's content to follow, but will always be playing devil's advocate, making sure plans are not faulty, and keeping superiors on their toes. He's technologically advanced, and skilled with his hands. He's creative and a problem solver. He has little patience for weakness in others, but is also protective of those he deems as "civillians".
