Kylar was the one shouting at them all, trying to create some kind of order. Order could be advantageous he had to admit, and order required cooperation. A little ways to his left was another man--Jack, he recalled-- and a girl--Cassy? No, Kate. The girl was listening to Kylar and said something about building a fire, yes fire would be useful…He glanced quickly down at the corpse at his feet. Useful indeed. He swiftly turned away from it and made his way over to the two. He was just as much of a mess as both of them, he realized. His prison clothes had been dirtied and torn in a few places, and his normally immaculately combed hair was thrown into disarray. Still, he offered a shy smile to them, the girl had already begun to collect the materials needed. "I can help," he offered, and to demonstrate his willingness he bent over and grabbed a stick off the ground. It was damp from laying in the mud, that's wouldn't be any good. "There is likely drier wood uphill," he gestured to the slight incline of the ground, and indeed it did look much drier. In fact, if they were to make camp, a logical place would be higher ground. He began moving in that direction, collecting small sticks on the way so that by the time he reached the crest he had an armful. Up here the land leveled off and was speckled with sparse trees. Some where dead. He dumped the sticks in a pile and began collecting the larger branches that had fallen beneath the trees, adding them as well. The exertion coupled with the heat of the sun caused him to break out in a sweat, and eventually he fatigued and had to sit down, panting. It wasn't until that moment he realized how frail he had become during his incarceration. He was thin, malnourished, and his strength had waned. Even his hands were shaking. Water. They would need water soon, he supposed the large pool of it near the crash site would suffice, if the water wasn't stagnant. Well, he'd investigate that later, for the moment he needed to rest.
