Alexis had little inclination towards any particular form of breakfast, so Daniel went with the easy option. Namely, Waffle House. He started towards it, but paused to wait for her to catch up as she went for a hairband inside the truck, pulling her hair into a ponytail before she caught up with his slow pace. He sped up a bit once she did, moving for the yellow roofed restaurant, that had some light traffic from truckers and those seeking a cheap meal.
"Maybe,' he acknowledged with a shrug. "I'm not a mind reader. But even if they are, it'll be a pretty wide area to cover even if they do have a general direction of where we're going. We should have some time." He held the door open for her to walk through before following and taking a seat himself across from her. He reached for a menu and looked it over, while also commenting. "Get whatever you want. Don't want to travel on an empty stomach."
He mused in thought,, as a waitress came up to their table. "I'll have two pancakes, some sausage, and skim milk," he said, looking to Alexis for what she would order. Once she said, the waitress would move off, and they would have some time to wait, listening to the conversations of those nearby, the radio, and just enjoying the calm after the storm.
