Azure's power lies within her weapon. Around the hilt, there is a chamber that holds different kinds of dust. Each dusk has a different magical ability that only Azure can activate. 

Alec's:

Alec has the ability to control the element wind which he channels through his own weapon.

Both of them do not have any abilities or powers until they find their weapons. When they do gain their powers they also are able to communicate telepathically. 

Their father abandoned the twins when they turned five years old. Their mother was devastated and constantly blamed them for his leaving. From then on she ignored them, only acknowledging their presence when she gave them a order to clean the house or fetch her something. Their mother started drinking heavily and flew into drunken rages more often than not. When the twins were fifteen they had gone to bed but when they woke up they were not in their house anymore.[/center]
