He keyed in the necessary components, and barked the order to bring his ship, and the rest of his fleet into slipspace. There were Jiralhanae causing problems still, despite the events that ended The Covenant, the Brutes remained a threat to the Seperatist Sangheili and their newly colonized worlds. Zel watched with approval as his crew readied the ship for departure. They were young, these Elites, but they had been tested in the Great Schism. They were strong, and steady when it counted. The rest of the Fleet of Swift Vengeance idled around the flagship, awaiting Zel's orders, and he paused for a moment to reflect on his situation. After the Great Schism ended, the Sangheili needed several fleets to be formed, and tasked with the hunting and extinction of the Jiralhanae stragglers that remained in their sovereign space. Zel Karum, having performed admirably in the Great Schism, had been promoted to Supreme Commander of one of these fleets, which he named the Fleet of Swift Vengeance. An appropriate name, considering the enemies the fleet was to go after. This was to be the fleet's first real mission, and Zel's first as Supreme Commander, and he was admittedly quite enthused. The tell-tale whir of the slipspace drive began to echoe in his ears. "Supreme Commander, we are ready to depart. On your word, we bring death to the enemy!" One of the Sword of Truth's bridge officers exclaimed excitedly. "Engage. Bring us to them, that we may show them truth through vengeance." Zel commanded, and with that, the slipspace drive was engaged. Instantly, Zel knew something was wrong. The stream had ended far too early, and he saw no ships nearby, Jiralhanae or otherwise. Not even his own fleet. Indeed, there was nothing nearby but deep space. "Blade," Zel barked at the AI, "What are our coordinates?" The AI hesitated for a moment, uncharacteristically, then spoke softly, "I have no idea. This is...uncharted space. Beyond my calculations." Zel began barking orders to the bridge crew to get the ship moving and try to send a message out. He didn't like sitting around waiting for something to happen. As the Sword of Truth began to move, an extremely unnerving feeling began to tug at the back of Zel's mind. Everything here felt...different, somehow. Communications with the fleet could not be reached. What would they do now?[/hider]
