The interior of the metallic top portion of the weapon is lined with blue dust to allow for rapid replacement of destroyed ice. While this weapon does not transform like many others, it holds an extremely nasty surprise; it's design allows for massive tearing wounds which may leave pieces of ice imbedded in flesh, and wounds created by this weapon will not heal properly without medical attention as cuts made by diablo fría bring about near immediate frostbite, which alongside the tearing wounds can bring about agonizing pain. Because wounds made by this weapon cannot heal properly without medical assistance, infections are a large threat. If the initial attack doesn't kill an enemy, the infection will.

[b]Semblance[/b]: Isaac's semblance manifests itself as the ability for him to see in infrared, however he's incapable of shutting it off, forcing him to constantly wear dark protective lenses to block out all but the highest temperatures (i.e. fire & warm blooded creatures) in order to function properly. When taking off his lenses, Issac's irises are a pearly white and are shown to lack pupils, they have a somewhat mirror like effect, especially when illuminated (though this is a sure fire way to piss him off, as it will cause him great discomfort).
