Michael had been sitting a few seats behind some of the boys from Apollo when he heard the scream. His mind was lost for a moment, as his feet slowly carried him down the stands. As his bare feet hit the dirt at the bottom he suddenly summed up the severity of the situation. In front of him just off center of camp, there stood nearly twenty hellhounds, raging as the campers began to jump on them. Michael began to charge, pulling both of the daggers out of there sheaths he ran at the first Hellhound he saw. When he got there he saw a young girl from Artemis kicking at a rather vicious looking Hellhound, it wasn't all that big, but the teeth on it were bigger than the girls hands. Michael through his bronze dagger toward the hellhound as it opened its mouth to latch on to the girls leg and likely thrash about with it. It landed right between the eyes of the beast, and just as it did, the dagger glowed with a bright light and suddenly shot through the creature's skull and into the ground wear it sat there glowing like newly forged metal. Michael helped the girl to her feet and looked around as the hellhound turned to dust. He saw almost 30 campers caught in some sort of fight with the hounds, and almost half of them were children. A flaming arrow soared past and hit a hell hound that was leaping towards a small group of children that had been playing near a tree in the center of camp. “Look i need your help okay? B-but we need to hurry or else a lot more people are gonna get hurt. Stay behind me and when you see any kids who don't look like they should be fighting, tell them to run toward the Apollos at the Chariot race. Can you do that?” Michael asked the girl who had to be about 9 or 10. The girl nodded slowly as Michael spun around, picked up his dagger and took off toward the children near the tree just off the thick of the battle. Luckily he had been training with two of his brothers before he went to the chariot race so he already had his light dark armor on. Suddenly three Hellhounds rushed at him from his left flank. He looked up and felt the energy within the tree he stood at. As he put his hand on the tree, and wooden spikes flew 15 feet out the left side, sending bark everywhere and impaling the Hellhounds. The girl from Artemis was already doing her job, as Jack yelled out over the battlefield “Grab the Children!” many of his Fellow campers began to see the same thing he had. Off in the distance pulling a sword out of the skull of a Hellhound he saw his sister Harlem, standing there with a smile on her face as she heard the whelp of the creature taking its last breath. Damn girl, he thought to himself, shes gonna be the death of me. He ran at the center of the fight jumping onto the head of a hellhound as a stump came out of the ground and wrapped itself around the hellhounds head, making a stomach turning pop and connecting with Michael's foot perfectly as he jumped over some of the campers and told his sister to get the children to a safe place. The little girl from Artemis was still telling some more kids which way to go, and her cabin was destroying some hellhounds just on the other side of the tree she was at. Michael pointed over to the tree and told Harlem about the girl and what he had told her to do. She quickly patted him on the back laughing “Fine Captain Michael, but i'm killing as many of these buggers as i can along the way.” She ran off laughing as she kicked another hellhound at a tree. The tree seemed to crack open and the hellhound was crushed inside. She looked back and gave Michael a wink, and at the moment he couldn't help but smile. He took his hands off the ground and went back to work finding the children in the mix. But he was already getting tired.
