Mariko turned her head towards Coral, with an expression on her face somewhere between confusion, and annoyance. She decided against saying anything, though. Even if the girl could react to a cutting remark, she probably wouldn't even bother. She remembered one incident last year, when she'd tapped on her shoulder to get her attention in a crowded hallway, and the girl had only reacted after she'd waved her hand in front of her face. Not that that was unusual behaviour in a high school, because there was always some clever dick who tapped on your opposite shoulder in order to make you spin around fruitlessly. That little incident had been their only real interaction last year, Mariko remembered. "It'd be somewhat strange if the same book held different things for different people, wouldn't it?" She remarked. "It wouldn't be the same book, then. But can we please skip the inane banter and get on with chemistry? "
