Roseia looked to him blankly "To be honest i have no idea" she said "But they do say ghosts appear where they either died or their bodies are buried so shall we have a look around for some graves?' she asked "Then if we reunite the bodies maybe they'll rest in peace" she suggested "If not we can simply ask them" she said a little bluntly. She really had no idea how she was going to get them to rest in peace now. After all this was no her expertise.

Once the pair did finally manage to embrace she watched "Well let's ask they'll know" she walked up "Sorry to interrupt but is there any way we can help you both move on in peace?" she asked them both waiting for an answer from the pair and when she did she smiled "As long as we can find the other Hamlet's the ones he kidnapped we'll be fine, since it wasn't him that took them" she said to him.

"Wait, what? If...if Hamlet here didn't take the actors...then who did?"

At that exact moment, the power went out, leaving them in complete darkness for a good few minutes. In that time frame, mass hysteria coupled with running and shouting filled the air. Soon though, the back up power generator finally kicked in, restoring at least a little bit of light to the scene. "Hamlet? Ophelia? If you weren't the ones to kidnap those actors, then who did?"

The ghosts stepped away from their embrace to give a knowing glance at one another before looking down on the two detectives. "It must be Amelia then." Dennis blinked.

"Amelia?"

"Yes," Ophelia said. "She's almost like a jealous spirit who always disapproved of our love. Even in death."

Dennis let out an annoyed sigh. "Perfect. Now it's the wrong ghost and we have to patch up relationship problems. Terrific."

"Dennis, calm down" she said tugging on some of his hair gently and smiled "Look it's easier to find them and wait don't you think we don't have much time either so let's get going" she smiled at him before began to walk around hearing a load of bangs she asked Dennis to open up the trap door only to find three people dressed up as Hamlet "Well, that was easy now where is this ghost?" she asked unknowingly the ghost had appeared behind her and was aiming for Dennis now more than her. "Dennis you might want to move, apparently the ghost is trying to push you in" she grinned at him sweetly before the ghost went to push him although in the end Rosie ended up pulling him out of the way. "Anyway we've found the Hamlet's I think we work on Amelia now was it?" she asked him before thinking. "Or shall we split the jobs up?" looking to her assistant for an answer.

Either way the Hamlet's were brought out and told to go wash off and change into normal outfits in order to calm down while they tried to sort out Amelia. "Ok how do we deal with ghosts again?" she muttered thinking "Ah that's right what's keeping you here, it can't be their relationship can it I mean you're all already dead" she asked.

"You'd be surprised at what people will do for affection," Dennis muttered in response.

"Yes...the bond between two lovers is strong..."

"Crap!" Dennis whirled around and shot three times. Of course, the bullets went right through the spectral being in front of them as the ghost of Amelia have off a high and shrill laugh. She looked a lot like Ophelia, except she had a paler pigment of skin tone, giving her the true image of a spirit. Her hair was black and hung in clumps, and her eyes were icy chips of blue.

"Do not...deny me of my love!"

With a howl, she lunged for Roseia and grabbed her by the shoulders, lifting her up in the air. Dennis raised the gun but froze, afraid of hitting his partner. "Lady, you're dead! Why do you even care about those two anyway?"

"Because...because Ophelia is my sister!"

Wait, what? Dennis groaned. Things just got more complicated than they needed to be.

Roseia looked to the ghost rather shocked "This is far more complicated than I originally thought" she sighed "Well I know exactly how you feel but just get over it, I mean such a love, is he really worth it, if you don't like your sister then let her have the worthless dead man. He isn't all that great I mean he's rather saddening to look at and Ophelia is no different, I'm are you'll find some other undead man to love and No you can't take Dennis, he's not dead yet" she grinned watching as she eyed up her assistant who as usual held that sleepy look about him. "I need him around too much, he's my sanity you could say" she hoped her slap dash plan was going to work considering she had no other ideas on what to do to get this ghost to stop "Dennis get them out ok? I'll keep her occupied" the ghost frowned "Why do you need him so much, he is not your lover" "nope but every detective needs an assistant and like I said he's basically my sanity" She smiled it was sort of true as well. He was her sanity despite his laziness at times he had he's good points.

At Roseia's talk of true love and her views on him in general, Dennis fixed his glasses to hide his embarrassment over this whole conversation. Great. Why him? He was more than happy to escort the captive actors away from the ghost and back into the waking and living world. By the time he had gotten them all out of there, the play just mere yards away from them was about to draw to its final closing finale.

Coming back, Dennis saw that Amelia's spirit was still present in the room, ranting about the cruelty of the world as well as the sheer unfairness of the situation. "Aw jeez Roseia, I thought you took care of her already?"

Well the spirit had ceased in gripping his partner and placed her back on solid ground, so that was a start. Seconds later, and the spirits of both Ophelia and the original Hamlet appeared side by side.

"Greetings new friends," they said to the two detectives. "Is there anything we can do to help?"

Dennis rolled his eyes. "Yeah. How about talking some damn sense into you sister-in-law," he growled.

Roseia nodded "Yeah talk to her, she's having a rant and almost went for Dennis who seems to be a little red" she smiled and looked to him. "We need to sort this out tonight as well now then speak to her and talk sense into her you two and then go rest in peace" she frowned. Ophelia began and tried to convince her sister everything would be alright but that she needed to give up on finding her own Hamlet in this afterlife. "come now sister, let us all go to heaven together" she put out her hand to both her sister and Hamlet a gentle smile on her pale lips.

Dennis rolled his eyes at Roseia's little comment. "Oh jeez, spare me the romantics," he muttered as he turned away. Amelia on the other hand paused to listen to both Roseia and her sister, taking in their words carefully. Letting out a sigh, she nodded in solemn agreement. This...was the right thing to do.

"Very well then....farewell Roseia, Dennis. I pray we can perhaps meet again in the afterlife?" As the three ghosts waved at the detectives while slowly disappearing, Amelia took extra time to wink at Dennis one more time before fading away completely.

"That....tell me that didn't just happen?" Sighing, he placed his revolver in its holder before going to Roseia's side. "Hey partner, are you ok? Can't have my employee dying on me anyone soon, you know." Case closed. For now.

Both of then knew that in the next case, things wouldn't be so easy for then.

"Yeah I'm fine, although seems like you already have a potential girlfriend in the afterlife Dennis" she teased him "and I'll live but somehow I don't think these cases are going to get any easier" she frowned "Shall we try and catch the last act of the play or would you rather go home?" she asked him. Either way when they got back to the office. Roseia did change out of her dress behind some screens she and and into her normal clothes "Much better, also you really do look quite handsome when you dress up Dennis, should do it more often" she grinned at him cheekily. She then made herself a hot chocolate instead and made him one too to try and help him get some sleep "Go home and try to sleep, I'll finish the paperwork off this time" she said sipping her drink after handing him his "or you can stay here and help me out?" she asked sweetly.

Dennis let out a sigh. "You know I'm an insomniac. There's kinda no point in me sleeping." Walking over to her desk, he pulled up a chair and began the long and tedious process of...well, paperwork. Still, it was a job well done. A case closed. And with it, more payment to their funds of course. The two certainly needed it.
"How....do I get myself into these situations?"

It was a stressful morning for the two detectives, more so than usual. Having a panicked middle aged mother bang on your front door and then bring some brain dead child into your office for examination tends to do that to you.

The woman had claimed that her son went missing for a few days, only to be found on the side of the road near his old elementary school unscathed. However, since then the child has neither spoken or, creepily enough, blinked. Not once. And this was what, three days ago?

Apparently the child, who was a middle school aged boy, was taken and held in some demolished elementary school in the papers. Since then, more and more incidents with similar occurrences began happening in the time frame of only a few short days. It was mind boggling, to say the least.

Now said same woman was here in the office crying her eyes out while said victim child continued to stare at the two blankly. Dennis adjusted his glasses awkwardly, trying to comfort the mother.

"Um, there, there....er, lady, we're not licensed to do this kind of thing. We have a psychiatrist down the hall, two doors to the left from here."

"We've been already they say it's as if something is missing" she cried and Roseia had a good look "Maybe take hi to a hospital for now, do you know where he was held or went for those few days?" she asked and they mother showed them the newspaper. "Please I just want to know what happened to my little boy" she cried out and Roseia nodded looking to the place shown in the picture in the paper. "I see, can you let me and m assistant here think for a moment? We need to discuss whether to take the case on or not" she pulled Dennis into the back and looked to him "Well, what do you think?" she asked him since she was far from sure on whether to take the case or not. "From what I hear it's not just that kid either several have gone missing for days and then come back but seems as though something is missing in all of them, each one something difference sand some have died because of it, the one who lost their heart for example" she said "although strange thing is the body apparently still breaths but they can't find the heart"

Dennis took a spare cloth and his revolver in hand and began polishing the weapon. "As much as I like the money this job pays, it's really too dangerous of a case." That was new. He was actually putting their safety before the payment for once. That meant he knew this case was more deadly than the rest.

"Roseia. You already know I'll follow you on any case you happen to take on. The choice is really up to you." He paused for a moment. "Even still, this case isn't about the money or even solving it. These kids are being abducted and killed. It's a matter of right and wrong here." He adjusted his glasses to stare at his partner.

"Whatever happens, I'm by your side...now don't take that the wrong way here!"

Roseia looked to him "We'll be fine, it only appears to be targeting children, no adults since they've gone near and the adults are fine yes?" she asked and the mother nodded "they've investigated in all the areas surrounding the school and inside, nothing so adults seem safe, it's only children" she said still upset and sad "So Dennis I think we should at least have a look" she smiled at her assistant who seemed less than enthusiastic about this case. "We nee to discuss the case first, can you leave your number?" she asked and the women wrote her number down before leaving. Once they'd left she look to Dennis "Unusual for you to care that much about our safety, why are you so concerned about it this time?" she question sitting on the couch.

(sorry didn't notice the reply :P)

"Not gonna lie to you partner, but all our other cases have been nothing but kiddie games. Er, no pun intended. This time though, we may very well be dealing with a complete lunatic here with a child fetish." Dennis' sleep deprived eyes reflected a hidden emotion. Was that perhaps....worry?

"Anyway, it won't be easy. We may very well have to use our guns here to save these kids. We might...have to take a few lives if it ever comes to that." He leaned over now to look directly into Roseia's gaze, eyeing her and keeping his voice level and steady.

"If someone puts you or even the kids in danger...I might have to kill them to protect you. Are you sure you want this case?"

(No problem.)

Roseia looked to him and listened understanding where he was coming from "But you see that's exactly why we have to take it, no one else will and children are being pulled of the streets and being torn apart" she said to him "Plus I trust you enough to know you'll look after me, you always have" she smiled softly and looked to him "I think we should take it but I need you to do the case with me so I have someone there who can actually shoot, I'm still a pretty bad aim to be honest" she said to him a little sheepishly. "So are we taking it then?" hoping he'd agree to taking it and waited for him to answer her. After they'd finally decided on what they were doing she called the client and told her their design as well as asking for details as well.

Dennis rolled his eyes. "Yeah. You do suck with a gun....ugh, alright fine." He adjusted his glasses and directed to her a knowing smirk. "I should have known you wouldn't be convinced. Always the high heavy justice type. You really should have taken up that lawyer job offer."

Placing his gun in his holster, he stood up from his seat. "If you're going, then I might as well tag along too. Someone's gotta be there to save your ass. And we still need that money too!" Well look at him being all manly and macho. One could practically smell the testosterone in the air.

"So....uh, where do we start? Got any new leads?"

"The school of course, let's go have a look there first" she grinned at him. "I've asked her for the exact locations and found out the locations of the other kids too so shall we get going Dennis" she smiled at her partner before leaving "and your driving by the way!" she shouted as she walked down the halls having grabbed his car keys as well. "also I didn't take up that lawyer job because sometimes you have to fight for the bad guy and what's up with acting so manly, something strike your fancy?" she teased him. She soon headed to his car and waited for him handing him the keys and smiled "You'll get us there quicker, it's Clement's Primary school" she said to him knowing he knew where most places were "and this case does sound rather interesting as well"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm on it," Dennis muttered to himself as he drove them to the predetermined location. The school was located just on the border outskirts of town, hidden in the areas where most people had either moved or abandoned from. It took a while to find, but there was really only one torn down school in the area. Or at least, it was supposed to be torn down. No one knew exactly why it continued to stand; then again, no one bothered to stick around and find out.

Parking the car right in front, the two detectives took a good long look at their target. A wooden little school with planks corroding, paint flaking off, and an unnatural chill that encompassed the area. Clement's Primary School. It didn't help that it was a gray day today and it was sure to rain any second.

Getting out of the car, Dennis bristled as his hand instinctively flew to his holstered pistol. This place....it had a dark aura around it. "Hey Roseia? Are you s-sure we're even allowed in there? It looks like the r-roof could cave over any s-s-second."

"Well whether we are or not let's go see" she said to him smiling at him and walked towards the school listening closely, carefully as she tried to see if anything was there. She paused and signaled for him to come over something was in there that was for sure sounded like a child laughing and the smell… it smelt of well… death. "Bring any pegs with you?" she asked cover her mouth a nose feeling a little sick from the overwhelming smell. "Ok something is seriously wrong here, when we get back we need to get a list of missing children from this school ok?" she said looking to her assistant and backed away from it wanting to get away from the stench. "Don't tell me your ok with this stench?" she asked.

"Hell no!" Dennis brought his own hand to his face to try and escape the smells. "But I didn't bring any air freshener either. Didn't think we'd be wallowing in a shit hole. We're just gonna have to make do without it, alright?" Taking the lead, he led the way with a trained hand still on his gun just in case. One never knew if these haunted stories were real or not.

The two detectives found themselves walking within the abandoned hallways, the wooden flooring cracking under foot and the paint on the walls flaking and peeling off. And that stench...horrible. They eventually reached the cafeteria where the scent seemed to be coming from.

It was a mess. Tables everywhere were thrown all over, chairs were thrown apart, and decomposing food rotted everywhere on the floor. "Jeez...if someone does live here than I can imagine what they live off on...uh, hey, what's that?"

Dennis pointed to something fresh and red on the floor, trembling slightly as he took a step closer to Roseia. A trail of blood led up to the thing, and on closer inspection one could tell that this was where the smell was.

A human brain.
