From this interest check *Note: currently looking for a co-GM ---- "The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything” - Albert Einstein ---- The cold war defined our world for the later half of the twentieth century. Although full scaled conflicts never broke out between the superpowers, people’s life were no doubt changed. Today, we look back into these times, studying and analyzing every success and every mistake caused by the leaders’ decisions. But what if you had the chance to make these decisions yourself, how would history change? If you held the pen to write in the past, what would your story be? ---- This RP will have an advanced standard for both writing and historical analysis skills. We will start from the year 1953, after that, every set of IC posts will progress the time by one month. You have to start with in the exact historical situation that your country was in during 1953. After that, you are free to proceed with your heart’s content, though you actions should be plausible and reasonable. There are three core IC elements to this RP, communication, overt actions and covert actions. Communication will allow you to announce your intents through mediums such as official state medias, United Nations and summits. Overt actions are actions that you cannot, or will not hide from other leaders. Lastly, covert actions are espionage, military raids and subtle influences. Both the communication and overt actions elements will be included in your IC post, covert actions will be sent to me via PM. At the end of every round (or IC month), I will announce the results of these actions (based on historical possibilities and/or dice rolls). Make sure you include detailed numbers and locations (expenditure, number of personnel, equipment, maneuver routes etc.) in your posts and PMs, they will influence your rate of success/failure. Here are some (not all) of the nations. Remember, not every country we have today existed back then, so do some research if you decide to play a nation outside of this list. While the writing standard applies to everyone, major nations will require expanded applications to demonstrate your language and history knowledge.
North America -United States*(played by Maxwell) -Canada(played by solamelike) Central America -Cuba(reserved) South America -Brazil(played by Rare) Asia -South Korea(played by Heyitsjiwon) -North Korea(reserved) -PR China/Mainland*(played by Pasta Sentient) -Philippines(reserved) Europe -Soviet Union*(played by Jannah) -Netherlands(played by Dutchbag) -Ireland(reserved) -France*(played by Magnificent) -United Kingdom*(played by Outcast) -West Germany(reserved) Middle East -Syria(played by SyrianHamster) Africa -South Africa(reserved)

North America -Mexico Central America -Panama -Costo Rica -El Salvador -Guatemala -Hondura -Nicaragua South America -Argentina -Colombia -Peru -Venezuela -Chile -Ecuador -Bolivia -Paraguay -Uruguay Oceania -Australia -New Zealand Asia -Japan -Vietnam -RO China/Taiwan* -India -Pakistan -Indonesia -Thailand -Mongolia Europe -Poland -Romania -Belgium -Greece -Czechoslovakia -Hungary -Sweden -Switzerland -Denmark -Finland -Norway -East Germany -Italy -Spain -Portugal -Yugoslavia Middle East -Turkey -Israel -Iran -Egypt -Saudi Arabia -Jordan -Lebanon Africa -Eritrea -Liberia -Libya -Morocco
---- For countries with upcoming regime change(s), you get to choose how it will turn out. In Cuba’s example, you can choose between Batista and Castro. If you decide to take Batista, you will control his government and crush the revolution. If you take Castro, you will start as a revolutionary and eventually overthrow the government. In these situations, I encourage playing only one side. Here is the format of your nation’s profile, please include at least one paragraph in each section.
Basic information (official name, language(s), capital city, demonym(s)): History: Politics and Government: Military: Geography: Economy: Culture: Infrastructure , science and development: Analysis (optional for some, required for major nations, denoted by * on list):
---- We have some third party communications in Google Docs and Chatzy. ---- Lastly, there are some rules, The high standard should mean that most players are sensible and willing to work positively. These will only be guidelines in case any emergency happens.
-No godmodding/meta-gaming/controlling other nations, just the basic stuff that applies to every RP -Please try to follow as much historical background as possible (circa 1953), at least in the beginning. You can always develop your nation in your own direction later on. -As the leader of your nation, you do not know all the events around the world. In fact, most parallel posts in the same month should be written as if other posts in that month are not known to you. -With any large scale invasions/troop movements/mobilization, you have to declare war. That can mean covertly through PM or overtly through OOC, no matter what you choose, let us know if you're going to blow stuff up. -Logistics and supply routes are in effect, extensive long range military campaigns will require proper support for their full effectiveness, and having supply routes disrupted will definitely have negative effects. In addition, you will have a limit to how much force your country is able to commit and how fast they are able to deploy, this will be based on the military and economy sections of your profile. -This is before the information age, many of our modern conveniences such as smart phones, internet etc did not exist. Old fashioned phones and radios will enhance communication, but your orders are still not carried out instantaneously. -Speaking of communications, don't post more than once within a round (one IC month). There can be exemptions but you need to let GM know before doing that, try to keep negotiations in PM or third party communications (titanpad, google docs etc.). -You will be removed from the game if you're inactive for more than 7 days (unless with prior notice of absence). -Remember that every action has an equal and opposite reaction, that means if you do something extreme, your people are not going to like it. Your domestic reactions will be based on the political/economy/cultural sections of your profile. -Dictators get overthrown and democratic leaders lose elections, election results and possible coups will be decided by the GM based on the perception of your actions by your people. These things will have clues prior to their occurrences, pay attention to them if you don't want to lose elections or be overthrown. If your leader loses his reign, you have the choice of playing the new government will continue as the opposition.
