Seth dismissed her first statement since it wasn't exactly of importance to him she had changed her outfit, or how many times she had done so in a single day. He was amused by it really and figured that Nevea did so to try and appear "appropriately" for each situation she went to face. "Straight to the point then? Good."He was thankful that she wasn't the type to drag things out. After the long and vexing conversations he had had with the idiots in the Big House, Seth wasn't in any mood to talk with anyone else. Furthermore, he knew they should set up their defences fast. The Hephaestus cabin was hot, though that was expected seeing it belonged to children of the forge god. He allowed Nevea to start off the talk since it was her ice constructs they'd be using. With her finished, a kid named Trey responded and asked what kinds of things they'd be wanting to create, and that's when Seth did begin speaking."As I'm not sure Nevea's capable of producing an entire wall of ice around the entire camp in one go," he said as he spotted a map of the camp and placed it on a table, "My suggestion is that she and I form ice and crystal 'turrets' along the border. Let me show you."Small crystal formations began to rise on the map as Seth's magic energy condensed. They were blue and red to indicate that they'd be fusing their creations together. The exact places where the crystals formed where at the main entrances of the camp, and other separate mini constructs rose along places where monsters might try to breach for surprise attacks."With my crystals ensuring her ice has a greater chance of staying intact, they should have no problem in releasing a chilling aura to and from each other to create a pseudo barrier. The cold should ideally slow and weaken most of the monsters that try and get through, and deter any lesser monsters from even trying."Seth then remembered the mention of traps and weaponizing Nevea's ice. Since his crystals had the tendency to become volatile when fused with Hephestean creations (at least when they were fused in the first place by amateurs), using her ice would be safer."I'm sure you Hephaestus kids can rig up traps to place along the borders. However, my siblings and I can assist you in creating rune traps. As for Nevea's using ice... perhaps she should explain that part herself."
"Of course," she said, in return to his first statement. She was a very matter-of-fact and to-the-point person at times such as this, as she didn't like her time being wasted. That got annoying quickly. Especially now, when they needed to get the defences done. As Seth began to explain his idea, she nodded. She had been thinking of turrets, she just hadn't found the word to explain her thoughts. What he was expression was close to how she'd thought it, and she quite well liked his plans. She waited for him to finish, nodding every now and then, and waiting for her turn to explain. When Seth gave her the table, she began. "Besides the chilling effect that my ice constructs naturally make," she explained, "I can make them such that they'll freeze water vapour into ice shards. There won't need to be any fusing-" She looked at Seth. She had heard the conversation in the Big House, after all, and volatility was not an option. She looked back at the Hephaestus campers. "-of your[1] creations with mine, since from what I've heard, Seth's crystals don't exactly fuse well with your creations. I can make them such that you can put any mechanisms inside or outside. Rotation, firing, etcetera, etcetera." That would hopefully ensure that nothing would happen with Seth's crystals, no matter where they were. [1]: She was, of course, talking about the Hephestan creations, not Seth's.
Angelo walked over to nevea and he hard about her idea for ice constructs for defense so Angelo though it would be a good idea to work with that. "Nevea, I'm Angelo from Zeus cabin and were trying to work on a defence for the camp to. My campers are more organized and are able to follow orders. My guys can set up a defensive perimeter until you can get those ice constructs in place then we can set up an alarm system if you feel we can work on this together" Angelo offered knowing that she didn't have the manpower needed to both defend and construct the defenses
Nevea listened to Angelo's proposition, and when he was finished, she nodded. "Go for it with the defence perimeter. And even after the constructs are done. Having turrets is no excuse for not having a proper camper defence, of course." She laughed lightly, a business laugh. Not something for jokes, just how one would laugh at a somewhat-humorous statement. "We can make this work if we work together."
