Effy stared out the window of her father's Mercedes, her music drowning out the sound of her father's monotone voice. She was almost excited for this place, anything that got her away from her parents was a "blessing" in her eyes. Her father pulled to a stop as he leaned towards her pulling out one of her earbuds; his wrinkles were etched with a stern look of concern, "This is for your own good, Ephesian. Please don't screw this up." he said as if pleading with her. Effy simply patted his knee with a patronizing smile before leaning in the back to grab her bags. With another quick smile, she was out of the car and up the path.
