Nevea thought for a bit about the salt idea, trying to figure how exactly that would help as a relief signal. In a brief and nearly uncaught moment of insane thought, one in particular crossed her mind, that maybe whomever they sent the relief signal could taste the salt. This was utterly insane and disappeared moments after it came. Not being able to think of anything clear and slightly sane, she asked. "What, exactly, would salt do?" she asked, a slight hint of exasperation in her voice, the reason of which, if you didn't know the context, could not be understood.Nevea nodded as Seth addressed them on the complement of her ice and his crystals, while a few thoughts about what they could do flashing through her mind before she continued to listen. She let out a barely-audible scoff at Seth's last comment, and then began to speak. "Once we're finished with this meeting, I suggest you gather Mars and Apollo immediately," she said. The author was careful not to use a redundant saidism, although he nearly put it in there just for kicks. "That way you can form a defence force as quickly as possible."For a good length of the meeting, she had been running through ideas on how she and Seth could form the turrets such that the Hephestan creations needed not be fused in any way. She had found one very good one that would hopefully work well, and so she called for a paper and imparted her idea."Now, since, as I said before, we cannot fuse your creations with mine and Seth's, I've come up with a way to make your mechanisms separate, although still touching." She waved her hand and ice began to form on the paper to demonstrate. She first made the outlines of two shafts. The inner sides, that is, the sides that were nearer to each other, were touching, but the outer sides didn't touch, leaving a square with no outlines. "We can place the construct on some sort of rotating mechanism that will follow monsters." She placed her finger to the shaft leading upwards. "Through this shaft, you can extend the mechanism to here-" she placed her finger on the non-existent square area. "-Where you can make the firing mechanism for the shards of ice that my constructs can form. And of course you can control this all from the rotation mechanism. My construct can form ice shards almost instantly, unless the humidity is rather low, in which case it'll take a bit to gather enough." She stopped here and waited to see if Seth would add anything.
"Fires can burn different colors depending on the minerals thrown into them. Common table salt would just make it burn a different shade of orange, but if it carries different components the flame will change color as they react to the heat." It was a good system, Seth supposed, but it did have the flaw that those using the salt would eventually run out of it if they were going to be using them every single time they were changing shifts. He had a solution to this though, and that was getting his half-siblings to produce mystical flames that would change color at a given command. One of their mother's symbols were twin torches after all, it would be shame if they couldn't do something as basic as that. Seth told the others about this and then listened as Nevea began telling the room of her design ideas. "These will do," Seth said as he examined the miniature ice structures more closely. "They're pretty close to what I had in mind anyway." The fact that they were was enough for Seth to feel assured the design would work well. "Now, if the humidity does happen to be low enough to give the ice shard creation trouble, that's where my creations' effects will kick in. My crystals are just solidified magical energy, so they'll have no problem in releasing streams of this power to wound and kill, but if not, then they'll certainly leave behind detrimental effects on their targets."
