Alex was unprepared to find himself facing down Cole Carton himself as his drones rose to the air, ready to search for the man who now emerged from the elevator. Alex frowned, straightening up and slowly closing the drone carrying case as the man stepped in, even having the gall to yawn, as if this situation wasn't serious. He had a self assured confidence that grated on the Justicar. Just who did Carton think he was, that any encounter with a Justicar of the Ultimatum could end any way besides badly for him? Alex's opinion of the man dropped accordingly, and he was so looking forward to arresting him, a man who could seemingly blow up innocent people without even caring. The demand sent a chill through him while also reinforcing the point, and his mind worked rapidly. If the building exploded, his armor might be able to tank the blast, but without knowing how big the bomb was he couldn't determine that accurately. Then he saw the Tome pulled out and groaned internally. Damn it. Well, now he knew how he could work so fast. This wasn't any conventional bomb or explosive. His mind screamed to refuse, to say to do his worst, that the Ultimatum would never negotiate with rebels and terrorists, but the more rational side of his mind intervened. First and foremost, his job was to serve and protect the people, so if that meant letting himself be temporarily used as a hostage to save innocent lives, then so be it. "Very well, Cole Carton," Alex said as he moved slowly, doing nothing to make the man hit the button. "If you want to get into the Capital so bad, then I will take you there." He left unsaid the fact that Carton probably wouldn't make it out of the Capital, at least not as he was now, and he slowly put away the drone case before raising his hands and turning around. "So terrorist, shall we be going?"
