I think some cats would prey on rabbits, so could be mortal enemies of jackalopes by extension. 

Hmm...if there's a lucky rabbit foot, what about a jackalope?

EDIT: You think it helps ward off enemies, but only because they're all disgusted by you holding a disembodied foot so avoid you.
