If Leifr accepts the duel, that means they have one month time to prepare, which can either go about them being together for that one month or just leaving after the quest/job and then meeting each other up at the duel.

Fiore is hoping for the former.

Now if Leifr kills Fiore, which wouldn't happen? (Unsure) Well... time for a new character!
