The problem with that is they know you'll get health problems later on, the retirement thing is very sketchy too. When my grandad retired, it was more of a 'we're laying off some people and you'll get 60% of your wage for retirement' (he accepted it). My dad was in the army and he doesn't receive money from it so getting retirement money is more of a 'maybe' rather than definitely.The problem with travelling too is I am not kidding about the hate the US Army often receives; for example, practically the entirety of Okinawa despises the US Army because the soldiers are arseholes to them.

Just best not having this dreamy view of the army because it's like the American Dream: sounds amazing but isn't all it seems.
