I agree, sometimes those character archetypes can be really conducive to the story as well as the character development of [i]other[/i] characters. However, I think its kind of hard to pull off and can really rely on everyone else (including the DM and their story) along with one's own skill... 

I guess my comments were more of a warning than anything else.
