Maher & Nadira Adonai Ravens Inn Nadira caught the key and smiled, Teila had told her what she could remember of her encounter with the shape-shifter/giant spider. "Leave it to us" she started up the staircase with her brother close behind her "Be wary sister," Maher said as he hoisted his staff a little to prevent it banging on the stairs. "I suspect we will find more than we expect at the top of these stairs." He added before looking back over his shoulder before the two mercenaries disappeared from view for a time. "And I suspect those two will have some difficulty following us up there quickly." He added with a smile. Nadira stopped for a moment "always slowing me down brother dearest" she grinned "those two lumbering mercenaries could come in handy they are not as squishy as us" Maher raised an eyebrow and a feeling of amusement spread through their link. "I simply prefer to be prepared, the same goal may be reached through speed or preparation, the difference is in the outcome." He felt a little hypocritical saying that after his outburst at James earlier, but one had to live in the moment and not dwell on past mistakes. "The bunny and the turtle I believe is the parable that explains it." He then added, grinning this time. "And while those two are bigger and stronger than us in close quarters we are by far more nimble." "Your are the wiser of us it seems brother, our mother coming out in you I believe, I always have been out fathers daughter" she grinned before adding "Now let's go see what beasties await us" Nadira took off once again only slowly down as she felt her brothers wariness in her thoughts. The twins reached the top floor that contained the chest and Maher held up a hand as he strained his mage trained senses to try and discern if there were any other illusions at work aside from the obvious that may conceal a trap if they were to simply approach and open the chest with the key Nadira held. It really had felt too easy so far.
