Wandering Fool Aeternus || Nexus Mystic Woods Affected Players: Moon234, Xenoko, The Imagineer, Ares --- The troll raised itself up in preparation for a solid blow, its prey wasn’t going to go anywhere too fast. Before the club could descend the troll stumbled forward as a shock seemed to echo through it, a horse galloped past, the man who had joined them earlier rolled to present, going straight under the troll to retrieve his lance. His voice formed the sentence as admonishment, but the man himself seemed to care little for the situation. A moment later, the troll came crashing down- an armed Imagine riding the troll’s back to the ground, a bloody ornate knife held in one hand. Fool had sat in a weary drop from the moment the troll went for the death blow, and could only take Imagine’s offered hand numbly. The pain in his chest was settling. As he had thought earlier, a lot of the perceived pain was a mental exaggeration. The pain was real, but the actual feeling of having his ribs smashed and broken was not. Or was it? At this point, his mind was a bit too far gone to know for certain. Imagine offered a small apology, for what Fool wasn’t quite certain. His response to her was tired. “No one should be alone, not when death is a real threat in every fight.” Something he had learned all too well. Two hits… it made Fool question his chances of survival. It was easily possible that most of the ranged classes would die out over time, faced with melee enemies that couldn’t be brought down quickly enough. That was a risk of not having a proper party, especially for a light class such as a Knife Thrower. Fool cast Bound Blades and staggered as he took on the weight of his ten throwing knives. An individual knife didn’t weigh much, but all ten together added some weight. Jeremy took a quick step away when the light around her darkened, not really wanting to get hit by anything of her abilities. Ever. So her AOE only knocks things out for three turns…. I suppose the damage effect runs on a similar time frame. Fool had his HUD pulled up and was about to edit his notes on her abilities when Imagine fell over and started slamming the palms of her hands into her head, yelling something about voices. He exited his HUD and reached out to stop her, but already she had paused, almost jittery as she pulled some sort of potion from her inventory. Imagine couldn’t grasp it well and fell onto her side, curling up and shuddering like a hand mixer on high. Jeremy grabbed the potion immediately, taking just a millisecond to read its name before kneeling and trying to pry apart her curled up ball. It was a pain, particularly because of her being female, there were few places he could grab that weren't awkward. The whole issue made his face burn, but it had to be done. Fool rolled Imagine onto her back, not bothering to pry at her arms and legs, putting her head in his lap and forcing her lips open by putting a hand over her jaw and squeezing- (Something he used to do to tease his sister, making a fishy face.) and then pulling out the cork of the potion with his teeth, one hand occupied. Jeremy hesitated just a moment, and then slowly poured the potion between her lips. He tossed the vial to the side and held Imagine's mouth closed until she swallowed, and sat still with her until the shaking began to recede. Jeremy stood with a pained sigh, lowering her head to the ground gently, “I doubt I can carry her back to the wagon, like this.” His white shirt under the tuxedo had ran through with blood in multiple spots, and it looked like the flesh underneath was misshapen, odd bumps and dips where there shouldn’t be. It would be a nightmare to hold a weight against his chest, and the person probably wouldn’t appreciate the blood either. “I trust you are strong enough to take care of that sleeping troll, carry her back to the wagon?” Jeremy spoke to Ares blandly as he passed him, no emotion to give, and too tired to add some fake emotion. The walk back to the wagon was without a backwards glance. He had done what he could, and that was enough. As the troll that was still living came within throwing range Jeremy had to restrain himself from killing it out of frusteration. Moon needs that experience, it wouldn’t be right to take that from him. Instead, Jeremy hoisted himself up into the wagon with the help of an offered hand by Baggles. Once there, he laid himself down and closed his eyes. A nap would be nice. Vaguely Fool recalled the item he had used on Imagine. Sanity potion… I could sure use one of those right now. For some reason though, he doubted it would work. --- HP: 43% SP: 70 Level: 3 Inventory: Gold: 20 Deck of Cards Dice & Cup x 10 Bread x1 Flint & Steel Whetstone Canteen (Empty) -Enemies- Troll #1: KO Troll #2: 100% [SLEEP] Troll #3: 9% [Blind]
