Plug your computer into the TV and play whatever it is you want to watch from there. Then return your DVD to the place you bought it and ask for a refund(optional). It assumes you own relatively modern tv that accepts the video output from a serial plug(or your computer and TV both have HDMI) and that you physically have the room and cables to do so. Or that there is some reason this isn't possible, which is why you're going through the dvd hacking in the first place. But it bypasses all that bullshit related to regional lockout.
My laptop doesn't have a disc drive. I've been meaning to buy an external one for a while now, though - and it's good to know that that is an option when I do buy it.
Just wait for the DVD. There might be no indication of success besides instantly being able to play the disks.EDIT: There's no point trying more than one thing if you can't test to see if any of them work.
Yeeaaaah I just wanted to be productive and search for some fixes to the solution while I wait. :/ Still, though, not much I can do without the DVD...
