Victor Vladov / Jackdawl / Veezarus / Lillin Ifriel "I'm waiting, Lillin" Jackdawl stood behind Lillin, he placed his rifle on the floor as if it were a cane and had both of his hands resting on the barrel, waiting patiently for her to open the vault. Lillin froze in place, almost in disbelief that this was how her afternoon had turned out. The scum of Chicago knew no boundaries, and she didn't want to further aid them in whatever it was they're trying to accomplish. "No" She whispered, almost regrettably. Jackdawl gave an irritated sigh. "We're doing this, than?" with that he looked towards one of his soldiers. "Get Mr. Daniels will you?" The soldier nodded and walked off to the entrance of the building, where all the hostages had been huddled together. Jackdawl walked towards Lillin, placing his hand on her shoulder he spoke in a light, reassuring tone. "Lillin, that whole situation earlier with all the shooting and murder and what not, it was all just a show. I was hoping to drive enough fear into your heart to the point where you would obey me no matter what. I'm ashamed to say it, but I actually need your help. Time is very much of the essence and I need to get into the vault right away." Jackdawl wrapped his arm around Lillin, pulling her in close as if they were old friends. "Mr. Daniels is highly capable of opening this vault within a matter of minutes, fortunately for you though, I don't have that sort of time. I'm not going to lie, I was very much planning to kill everyone in this building, including you, but if you help me, I give you my word I won't lay a finger on another civilian in this library. I know i'm a criminal, i'm aware i've murdered two already, on several occasions i've been called scum and several more pure evil, but never have I been accused of lying. I'm a man of my word, Lillin, but i'm also dedicated to my work. You have ten seconds to make a decision." With that, he let go of Lillin and backed up a few steps, giving the librarian some space. Wiping the tears from her cheeks, Lillin reluctantly approached the vault and began punching in the code. She had no choice at this point and wanted to avoid more bloodshed. The keypad gave an assuring chime and the vault doors slid open. "I appreciate a woman with brains, Lillin Ifriel" Jackdawl motioned to a group of his soldiers "Find it" Veezarus crawled on top of the bookshelves, hopping from one to the other he had watched the water nymph take out four goons and followed her as she wandered the library. Victor unfortunately watched from cover as the reptile assassin dropped down from the bookshelf and slowly began approaching Luci from behind, drawing a blade. "Damn kid" He muttered, frustratingly. As Veezarus lifted his blade very slowly into the air Victor was forced to jump out of cover. Pulling a revolver out of it's holster as he hopped over a desk he fired all of his rounds into the assassins back, who dropped to the floor immediately. Victor approached Luci, furious he grabbed her arm "I thought I told you to hide dammit!" Before she could say anything back, Veezarus' blade pierced through the detective's back, he grunted, blood dripping from his mouth, and slowly dropped to his knees. Veezarus removed the blade slowly, as to cause more pain. Once the blade was completely removed, Victor fell face-first. The reptile was impervious to bullets, and made it seem like he was going to execute Luci only to have the half-devil reveal himself. "Too easy" Veezarus' voice was wicked, the reptile lifted the detective and carried him over his shoulder. Momentarily he stared into Luci's eyes, and stood tall above her with poise before vanishing into a cloud of green smoke. He would save her for later.
