*Name: Ghave, Guru of Spores (I beleive it's pronounced "Gha-vey", but I might be mistaken) *Universe: Magic the Gathering *Appearance:

*Personality: Ghave is a very calm individual under most circumstances. Before the war between his kind and humans he would mend the wounds of anyone who showed up to his home, but watching his bretheren die at the hands of humans has made him somewhat wary of mammal-kind. It is unknown how old he is or even if he is even male since Mycoids don't have a concept of gender. He sometimes has difficulty relating to other species due to his unique nature of a plant construct, but he makes an effort to empathize with others as he believes that is the role of a shaman. *Powers/Skills: As a Shaman Ghave is gifted in healing and magic that pertains to life... and death. His main strength lies in being able to absorb and otherwise manipulate organic matter. He can absorb food and dead matter in order to bolster his own strength and vitality, but he can also shed excess pounds in order to create saprolings, the youngest and most basic form of Mycoloid, as servants and helpers. Saprolings on their own are very weak, but often are made in large numbers. His mystical influence over plant life allows him to manipulate and shape his mycoloid brothers with ease. Ghave's other abilities fit mainly in the supportive role. He can quickly regenerate his own body as long as he has access to the available nutrients. He can also use his regenerative abilities on other life forms at a similar expense of food, but thankfully the definition of food to a fungus is very loose. He can also grant his own life force to allies to bolster their strength and energy, but the same limitations apply. As a Shaman Ghave also naturally sensitive to the spiritual. Generally this means sensing the presence of ghosts and spirits and communicating with them. *Brief Bio: Ghave is a member of a race known as Mycoloids, an intelligent fungus species that inhabits the plane of Dominia. This race existed peacefully in the fungal forests of the land of Drakkus. However, the humans of that plane were facing hard times, and they turned to Ghave's home in order to find sustenance. And find sustenance they did. The humans began consuming younger Mycoloids in what their race described as genocide. This prompted a counter attack from the forest dwellers, but the humans had access to steel and fire magics in order to repel their assault. It wasn't until Ghave entered the fight that things turned in the Mycoloid's favor. Using his abilities to bend life itself he turned his fungal brothers into an ever evolving force that eventually were able to drive the humans out of their forests to free their home once again. Shortly after the battle as Ghave's kind celebrated their victory was when whatever strange magical force pulled him out of his home universe. He is lonesome of his kind back home and would appreciate being back home with them, but Ghave believes it may be possible to start a whole new colony of Mycoloid on this new world if he finds the suitable place for it. An advantage of reproducing via spores I suppose. *Equipment: A simple staff that behaves as a conduit for his magical abilities. While it can be used rather easily as a bludgeoning weapon, generally it doesn't stack up well against more traditional weaponry. *Others: Some of the details of Ghave are not strictly canon, such as his personality, simply because there isn't much to go off of. His background is completely canon, but there isn't anything else about his character I could find. I based his powers off of his card's abilities, and also off of what a lot of creature cards of his color combination are capable of doing. His personality is pretty much made up as well. I really like Ghave's design, his background and the abilities of the card itself so I made an effort to fill in the gaps myself. This is his card for those who want to take a look: Ghave, Guru of Spores
