[b]Weapons:[/b] Derek's primary weapon is one of his own creation, based on a weapon from a game he used to play though with a few design tweaks. It is comprised of a foot and a half long ironwood handle, a circular saw blade, a small yet high-powered motor, hooked up to a motorcycle handbreak at the handle which acts as the switch for the motor, and some steel for reinforcements.

His secondary weapon is a makeshift sawed-off shotgun with one barrel, which needs to be reloaded after every use and often backfires, causing the gun to break into pieces and require reassembly. More often than not, he uses makeshift ammunition for this weapon, such as rock salt or coin shot.

[b]Personality:[/b] Derek has an ISTP type personality, along with Antisocial Personality Disorder. Due to these two traits, he is usually seen as a loner, and can act coldly or even cruelly towards people around him, though he will still aid his comrades, if only because they may be of use to him later. Because of his overconfidence, he often acts recklessly and comes off as cocky, though he very rarely lets down his guard, even around those considered to be his friends. In a fight, he starts calm, but his composure may begin to deteriorate as he loses himself in the heat of combat. Despite his cold demeanor, Derek can be quite the romantic, with both the ladies [b]and[/b] the men.

[b]History:[/b] Derek was a big gamer before the shit hit the fan, even though he certainly doesn't look it. Aside from this, he was also viewed as a bit of a "Nutcase" by those around him, as he was preparing clothing and equipment for the coming apocalypse. Now that the apocalypse has come, he's the one laughing at the others for not being as proactive as him.
