Asphyxious raised four boney fingers. "First, Sazh, My name is Asphyxious not skeleton guy. Second the 'Viewer' only said that the challenges start tomorrow not anything about there being no dangers in this world, we have no idea who or what came to this world with us. Third while I may not be the best to deliver news there is no reason you cannot speak with me there. Lastly out of all of us do you really find that any of us look particularly normal ether here or there, even you have some strange branding on your skin." He proceeded to move towards the exit and looked behind him to Saber. "After all if you do get attacked who is going to support you? The child? What should happen if you cannot pay attention to combat and him? Are you willing to let that blood be on your hands? Even if the risk is small there is still risk in a land we do not know."

This was ridiculous in Asphyxious's mind. Even Cygnar and Cryx would work together against Everblight and his blighted hoard should need arise, and yet even with the intention to do no current harm these people were outright refusing the most basic of needs not because of his doings but because 'he looked scary' may The Devourer Wurm himself take them should even see what Everblight or Toruk could do.

"Though I must say it astounds me that you can be so cautious around me yet, you cannot even think that actual threat may exist out there. I may perhaps be the most unusual of the lot but truly must you refuse help and insight simply because I differ from you?"

Oh, for the love of all that's good! Why do these things always have to be so damned hard!?

Sazh threw his hand across his face and unloaded muffled yells into them, trying hard to vent his frustration preemptively. It always seemed like some people, no matter what, were willing to understand each other, but the moment anyone so much as looks at them funny, they go and turn every single thing he's said against him. They was no way a creature like Asphyxious should ever be willing to offer help if he couldn't take a lick of criticism about it. If he kept being worried about danger like that, then by god, he's gonna be the first to run into it!

"Okay, look, Asphyxious," Sazh removed his hands to un-mute himself. "I'm not trying to make enemies here - I'm not even refusing your help at all! - but you kinda have to accept that, well, not everybody's gonna agree with you. I'm not talking about me here, I'm talking about everyone who could think you look 'different', because that's just how people are!" The l'Cie was gesturing wildly, trying to make his point, "People in general judge by looks, not qualities; hell, for all we know, you're a savior of worlds, but to anyone who doesn't know that, you're just some living skeleton in a big suit of armor- ...still, though, if you think you can be the ambassador here, then by all means go ahead."

Already exhausted and still high on frustration, Sazh backed a step or two away from the lich and the door. "Look, see, I won't even bother you at all. I can just wait here quietly, with a gun in each hand for when trouble comes knocking. Okay?"

Shirou nodded as the others made their intentions clear, happy that they were smart enough to think of such a plan. "You have my thanks for going to bring the others back. I will explore the Oasis and see what is available." Thus, the enchanter began to wander about the hotel himself, noting anything that could be of help. The place had some stockpiled supplies that would probably be needed for the following days, food especially and water especially. Since everything looked like it was taken during a successful run, the kitchens were probably well stocked and anything they didn't carry could be put in the freezer if they returned to the place.

Moving next to the bar and rooting around, Shiroe began to tuck away various supplies for people without the bodies of Adventurers or the powers of the others. Candy and small snacks for energy, alcohol for warmth and wounds, papers, pens, spare clothes of the employees, and other such things went inside his magic bag that had more space on the inside.

Those who would go explore the place would find most of the furnishings common to the establishment, such as artistic potted plants, chandeliers, and rooms filled with uniform beds and televisions (though these were the small blocky kind). Looking out the window, they would even be able to see more of the city, including what looked to be a giant spire in the distance that actually punctured through the lowest layer of clouds. Movement could be seen below, other inhabitants of the city that were walking about the night. Some carried lamps and other lights, while others were fleeting shapes in the darkness.

Those who can see better in the dark or those whose sights were concentrated on the street lamps would note that while most were humanoid, some had features that were decidedly not such as animal ears, extra appendages, or even creatures that eschewed the bipedal form entirely. Many different species could be seen, some from fantasies and myths while others came from space itself. Even the air space itself was not safe from strangeness as futuristic vehicles zoomed about traffic with giant airborne animals that were decidedly not avian in nature.

In the clearing where everyone started, someone actually could be heard snoring. If one followed the snore, they would find the source to be propped in the tree branches itself. A human who slept like a monkey was still out of it, though not enough to actually fall down from the branches that normal men couldn't even balance on. Clad in oriental cloth of red silk and looking like a martial practicioner of ancient China, Ranma Saotome was brought into the City and unlike the others, hadn't even woken up. If anything, he looked like he was so deep in his sleep that he was resting on the fluffiest and warmest mattress possible, and not a dead tree filled with snow.

Saber

Saber was silent for several moments as Asphyxious explained himself. Only once he had finished speaking did she make her response. It was a simple one, a summation of her feelings on the entire situation. She did not focus on one potential threat to the ignorance of all others. She was fully capable of keeping her attention on multiple possible threats. Her rank in Instinct also allowed her to sense when danger was approaching, as well, to predict attacks and react as if she had prescience. Saber felt firm in her abilities insofar as combat went.

"I do not focus on one potential threat and ignore all others," said Saber, simply, "If you mean no harm then you may show it with your actions."

To Vash, she gave a simple nod of acknowledgement. Aid would be useful.

That was that. She would not ignore her suspicions about the Lich, but at the same time if he truly proved that he bore no ill intent then she would not attempt to harm him. It was simple and it was the logic she would continue to follow. The blonde girl in armored proceeded out of the streets... and found herself stunned. Before her there were figures she had not previously seen when she was approaching the town. Of all sorts, from humanoid to... decidedly not. In the sky there were vehicles she had no knowledge of. She knew all of the technology of the modern day in her world of origin, at least enough to recognize it when she saw it. These... these were things she did not understand.

"What... has happened...?"
Jakuzure Nonon

... Princess... Kaguya.

Okay then.

"... Yeah, sure, and I'm Amaterasu," replied Nonon, one eyebrow raised. She didn't believe that, not one bit. Kaguya-hime was a fairytale, and a pretty silly one. Even if thise was a really weird place where Pokemon could be real and there were a whole lot of idiots all over the place, Nonon wasn't about to believe that Kaguya-hime had just shown up out of no where. That simply broke her silliness gauge into tiny, tiny pieces and scattered them far and wide, all to the winds. She didn't believe this for a second. And then... she realized that there was a guy. Sleeping in a tree.

"... If anyone deserved to be called a Slacker, that moron sure does," she said, jerking a thumb towards the boy in the tree. Seriously? Sleeping in this kind of situation?

Mokou!

The list of abilities didn't really interest Mokou, since they were all fairly standard things. Well, healing was--she highly doubted that there was anything Eirin couldn't heal if she put her mind to it, even death itself. She was the one that made the Hourai Elixir, after all. Any satori, ever, could read minds; and telekinesis was a pretty common ability. She didn't comment on it, though; there was no point telling Ba'al that he found impressive the sort of ability Mokou could only regard as the result of mild training or generic and inborn talent.

"Technology? I don't now much about that, only magic."

Lunarian tech was highly advanced, but she'd only seen small fragments of that due to spending a lot of time in Eientei. Not that she had the faintest idea how it worked, either; you'd have to ask Eirin about that.
Kaguya!

"Oh, you know me?" Kaguya wondered, looking at Felt's sword intently. She didn't know any swords, but maybe some Lunar noble or rabbit had gained a talking sword at one point, and she'd had a conversation with them? That would explain how the sword knew, "I haven't been to the moon in over a thousand years, though..."

Whitney's comment, and challenge, went right over Kaguya's head, and her response was a cheerful 'yes you are', whilst Nonon... was taken completely and utterly seriously, "Oh, you're a goddess? Pleased to meet you!"

With a long sigh he began "Nor did I say that I wish to go alone. Look outside." He broke a small chair leg from the bar area and carefully forced into the engine that fueled a portion of his body. While the flame started to ignite with the same green hue the longer it burned the more it faded into a normal red-orange hue, and then he simply tossed it into the darkness. A few of the creatures became started and ran off, some stayed and simply growled at the new found light, and a one rather large human that was more mouth then body picked it up and swallowed the torch whole.

"They have been out for awhile now, that is why I did not want you to go alone. I see magically thus I can somewhat see in the darkness." he watched them for a bit longer curious as to who or what created them. It was not unheard of for the necrotechs of Cryx to add body parts here or there to their creations or even attach other beings body parts. These things were most defiantly living, well at least the majority of them, he could hear their souls in their bodies.

All that aside though he had no idea what their intentions were, "I would recommend some for of light to take with you as well, Saber, but they might not take kindly to that ether." He shrugged, after all it truly did not matter to him. If they did try to hinder him he could easily send them to a realm far crueler then anything the Viewer may have conjured. He motioned to Sazh, "Let us hurry before the mood of the area changes. I do not want to see what a entire populace of strange creatures will do when angery."

When Asphyxious seemed to give some sigh of resignation, and beckoned for the others to look forth, Sazh did relax himself a bit. Following the Iron Lich's motions (wow, so that flame stuff wasn't just for show), Sazh saw as the makeshift torch was thrown out of the main doors. The surge of creatures revealed by the burning light startled Sazh somewhat, coupled with the darkness itself. For some reason, he couldn't recall the night setting or the throngs of other living things being there at all before. Had he been following blindly, or were this all just now making itself apparent.

"Oh, shoot. I totally did not see that before," Sazh spoke out in ultimately honest surprise, "Alright, yeah, I get what you're saying now. No telling what sorts of things would be crawling around here." When the armored skeleton motioned for the l'Cie to follow, Sazh straightened up again and jogged up to follow. He wouldn't draw his pistols until it came down to a real fight, but that could still come at any moment, and for that the old pilot was thankful he had honed his quick-drawing down to an art.

As a sudden afterthought, Sazh turned back around to face Morito, and said, "Uh, sorry, maybe it'd be better for you to stick around here? There oughta be a bedroom or two on the higher floors, and some of the other fellas will be nearby..."

When Sazh was able to get a good look outside, he was fairly astounded at how lively this world had suddenly become. What was really strange to Sazh was how... naturally, it all seemed to be. There wasn't anybody acitvely fighting each other nor seeming confused. Many creatures of varying shapes and sizes paced about the streets, all likely hailing from different worlds and eras; even the skies seemed to spark every so often with the streak of a flying beast or some futuristic craft.

The latter brought a pang of nostalgia to Sazh; he hadn't flown an airship proper in what felt like months. Just once now, he'd like a chance to fly around without either the risk of an enemy attack nor the fact that the airship was actually flying itself. Just him, the ship, the sky, and most definitely hopefully no crash landings. But that would all have to wait until much later, if at all.

Honestly, if Ba'al had heard that what the Ancients could do wasn't that amazing by Mokou's standards, he wouldn't have been surprised. Of course, they got some extra abilities once they Ascended, as his experience with Anubis could attest, but that was another of those facts that he would keep to himself. After all, she hadn't asked what he meant by being pure energy, so he didn't feel compelled to tell her.

"Interesting,' Ba'al replied to her comment on technology as he waited for them to get where they were going. "There was a man on Earth named Arthur C. Clarke who said 'sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic.' I'd like to think that was at least a bit true in my case. When one is confronted by a feudal society, it is useful to have such things as energy based weaponry, the ability to move between planets in but a few moments, time travel." Hey, he was a Goa'uld, you had to expect at least a bit of boasting from him on the might and power of his people, with the technology at their disposal, even if it had proven sadly less than amazing compared to the Tau'ri.

Another 'ding' heralded their arrival on the top floor, and the door slid open to reveal them at the top of the building, a small flight of stairs off to the side leading to the roof. Together, they emerged onto that great height, wind pushing and blowing past the two of them as Ba'al stepped over to the edge, his eye catching sight of the people down below. "Now that is interesting," he said idly, wondering how many there actually were down there.

Vash followed Saber outside, and his eyes widened in surprise as he took note of all the creatures wandering the streets. He whistled slowly. “Things certainly got lively while we were in there…” Certainly, much of what met them outside was not anything he’d ever seen before on his home planet of Gunsmoke, but as of late, he’d grown worried that he’d be the only one who didn’t understand all the things that happened here. He found it strangely comforting that Saber seemed just as confused as he was.

“Looks like the locals all decided to come out from hiding.” He said in response to Saber’s question, staying close to her. “Thankfully, though, they don’t look too hostile…” Despite his words, he sounded wary. He scanned the surrounding creatures carefully, on the lookout for anyone or anything dangerous.

-"I have heard of you, yes, your highness," the Azoth answered. "although I am not sure how accurate the accounts are. Regardless, your existence is an obvious fact, and as such there must be some truth behind it." Such a mysterious dimension... There seems to be no telling what might happen next. We should be prepared for anything. Lady Kaguya seems to be a decent person, but if the myths surounding her are remotely accurate, we should be wary of anything she tells us to do. These other beings... Most of them look humanoid enough, but I wouldn't know who any of them are.

"Wait, a thousand years?," Felt said, finally having found back his tongue. "Not even the Life Mana grow that o-oooooo..." ...Only to lose it again moments afterward. If the Azoth had a mobile head, he would've surely shook it at such a rude comment.
-"Felt, you should know better than to inquire about a lady's age, even in a roundabout matter. You should apologize to her."
"...Yes, you're right,", the alchemist replied. "I'm sorry, ma'am, I shouldn't have said that," he bowed to the Lunarian princess. Still, it's true though. Not even the Mana live forever. What are you...?
-"Either way, my master did raise an important point. We are all obviously from very different worlds. I propose we do a round of explanations and introductions about ourselves, to help us learn more about each other. Not just our names, but a brief explanation about who each of us is and what world we come from. This will surely be of assistance when these... challenges begin. If you agree to this, as a sign of trust we shall be the first to do so."

Jakuzure Nonon

Nonon raised one eyebrow, mouth slowly hanging open as she stared at Kaguya. She was blatantly being sarcastic, even if it had been something remotely plausible. How could the black-haired girl possibly believe she was Amaterasu?! How did that make any sense at all?! This... 'princess' had to be one of the most dense girls imaginable. All those good looks and a head full of air it looked like, at least as far as Nonon was concerned. Hmph. Satsuki looked good and was wonderfully intelligent! ... Nonon really wanted to get back to her... but for now she was stuck here.

"Looks like Princess Airhead here really doesn't get sarcasm," she began, gesturing to Kaguya, "Or reality. Geez, maybe I should've waited to start through eight grader syndrome around..."

Mokou

The girl focused on the most interesting of these questions--she knew teleportation was possible based simply on having to fight that stupid youkai, and time travel was a concept she had nothing to do with, conflating it with travel time and thus the teleportation thing--which meant energy weaponry. This meant a more practical demonstration: firing a burst of danmaku, and thus essentially a large number of surprisingly-harmless energy bullets, into the air, and asking "Like this?"

Floating off out into the void, Mokou looked down... and up. Flying vehicles and steeds above, below people. It had been a long time since she saw any crowds like this; it hadn't been since she was still as mortal as the rest of humanity, and a noble child living in Nara. The crowds had been more uniform, then, without the odd bits here and there.
Kaguya

Explaining about the worlds they came from? There was obviously no need to say more about themselves, not when everyone knew who she was for some reason, but there wasn't a huge deal that she could say without just going on about a lunar capital she hadn't seen for nearly one and a half thousand years. This didn't leave her all that much to say, so she went for the important part: "I live inside a bamboo forest, and there are a lot of rabbits."

Though it was probably wrong to describe them as pets--Reisen was most definitely a servant, and Tewi was the White Hare of Inaba--it more or less summed up what most of them did: pound mochi, and lie around. When it was cold, she gained a furry blanket... and speaking of which, one of her arms seemed strangely warm.

"See?" Kaguya said, rummaging around for a second and producing a single white rabbit from her sleeve. It seemed quite cheerful about this, waving at the people assembled.

Whintey from Pokémon

Whitney took her Delcatty out of its ball. “Go to wake up that boy in the tree”, she ordered. It was impossible to say whether she was worried that the boy would fall from the tree or she was annoyed by boy’s peacefulness. Likely both.

While Delcatty started to climb the tree Kaguya took the bunny from her sleeve. In that instant, Whitney forgot all her jealousy towards the princess because bunny took all her attention. “It’s adorable”, she said, voice trembling from excitement. “I’ve never seen a bunny like that! It’s so white! Can I pet it, it looks so soft. Please?” Whitney made her best “little girl asking for an ice cream with big teary eyes” face.

“Oh, and my world”, she added hastily. “Well, there are these creatures like my Miltank, and they’re called Pokémon. And it seems to be a video game, according to sarcasm-Amaterasu at least. And we have no such a thing as gods with a human form as you seem to have. I don’t know what else there is to say.” Whitney thought her nickname for Nonon for approximately two seconds. She had no clue about whether it made much sense, the only thing she knew about Amaterasu was what the princess had mentioned: that Amaterasu was some sort of a deity who likely looked like a human.

Ba'al was...suitably impressed by the display of what he didn't know was called danmaku. It seemed that with every minute he was with Mokou and learning about her, the desirability of her and what others may be like her as a host grew. A pity he was fond of his body, for any System Lord would have killed to have such a one as her as a host. He almost wished Nirrti was here, so he could show her and laugh at her failures in comparison.

“Something like that,” he replied simply, leaving out the fact that they generally needed guns to do that, as well as leaving out the Asgard beam weapons or self targeting Ancient drone weapons. She didn't need to know of that.

Then she was gone, flying away down below to explore, investigate, what have you. He watched, as if he could do anything else, for a bit, before turning and departing the roof. He instead went back down investigate his new room, quickly finding the door and opening it with the key he had.

It was nice, a suite with a large bed, a shower, a nice view of the eclectic city, and some other thins that were commonplace for the 1920's. He spent a bit of time looking around before departing again, to see what else he could find up here. Food would be good, weapons too, another change of clothes maybe. A Goa'uld was always resourceful, especially in matters of survival

It was when the people in the hotel peered out into the gloom and saw the creatures that several things happened. One was that quite a few of them looked pleased, those who were humanoid seemed to brighten up somewhat and stop in their travels to glance at the building where several sillhouettes were watching them. Some of them were stunned and surprised, freezing absoulutely in their tracks with gobsmacked expressions on their faces. A few of the shiftier looking inhabitants quietly slunk away, always facing the group and backing away at a steady rate to slink into the shadows before outright pelting away. A few even so much as spat at the ground and cursed after eyeing the newcomers.

One of those remaining was something that looked like a bipedal lizard with long and floppy ears, dyed a reddish color that only came into view when he stepped closer to the hotel's perimeters. "Oy, guvs! Youse guys are the Challengers brought in here by the Viewer, right?!" Particular emphasis was placed on "Challenger" as though it had some sort of special meaning and the rest of the sentence was said in a somewhat gutteral dialect.

It seemed that his particular creature also knew something about them that the Viewer either forgot to mention or did not have enough time to state. Said creature was looking somewhat dazed in fact. "Otherwise, you wouldn't have even gotten into that place! I should know, many a bloke got sizzled like sausages trying their hands at filching the place!" He was hollering so much that various buildings nearby were turning on whatever lights they had, and several people began to attempt to listen in on the conversation.
As Ranma Saotome mumbled something in his sleep and shifted, a sense of wariness settled over him. Most of the time, he would have slept squarely until either an uncute tomboy came into his room to dump a bucket of cold water over him or his father threw him out the window and into the koi pond. Utterwise, he was pretty hard to wake up by regular means. But this particular instance was special. It had to do with a cat, the one thing that Ranma Saotome truly feared along with a certain tomboy's home cooking. His eyes snapped open and he glanced around, noting that the place was snowy and he was perched in a tree. "How the hell did I get here? I'm not Ryoga..."

While he was peering about and looking at the strange people situated under said tree (he was pretty desensitized to weird at this point), he felt something touch his hand. It was soft and furry. Glancing down, the pigtailed boy froze as he saw what was currently aiming for him. It was a pink kitten with closed eyes and a tail that looked exactly like a cat's toy. If he had been anyone else, he would have pet the adorable Pokemon. Sadly, he was Ranma Saotome. "C-c-c-c-c-c-c-c..." He grew pale and nervous, skin actually whitening and losing color as his teeth clattered from the fear.

"CAAAAAAAAAAAAAT! GET IT AWAY FROM ME!" Suddenly, the boy jumped straight up twenty feet, grabbed the top of a much taller tree, and clung to the peak in a shivering mess. "C-call off your evil hellbeast!" In his mind, he remembered the horrible training where he was dumped in pit and had starving cats attack him due to his father equipping fish products on him. Meanwhile, the evergreen branches he blasted off of and through began to rain down on the clearing.

Felt nodded in acknowledgement of the other's explanations. Well, mostly the one that came from the girl named Whitney; Kaguya's story was pretty much void of any and all detail. Of course, she had every reason not to blindly trust the people around her in a situation like this, but still...
For some reason, Lady Kaguya then spawned a rabbit from her sleeve. Where said rabbit came from, or how the lady hadn't managed to feel it earlier, Felt didn't know. It was quite obvious that the animal in question was far smarter than average though, seeing as it somehow knew how to greet people. With a small smile, Felt waved back at the small critter.

"Anyway... As for us, we're from a world called Eden," Felt started. "It's a world of alchemy; I myself am also an alchemist. It's a bit hard to explain, but... Think of it like cooking. You mix a bunch of ingredients together according to a recipe, then end up with something completely new. The original items might not even be recognizable in the end result, depending on what you're making." Of course, this wasn't quite everything that was involved in the process, but it would have to do. Besides, if he had to explain every single detail about alchemy, they'd probably be here for hours -- not to mention the fact that he would be unable to explain said every single detail in the first place.
"As for Eden itself, it's.. not really in a good state right now though," the young alchemist continued, staring at his feet. "I was supposed to be on a quest to save it, but as you can guess, things didn't quite went the way I thought they would." He paused for a second before continuing.

...Or at least he would have, if it weren't for a certain person deciding it was a good idea to disturb the public peace by screaming his lungs out. "What the...," Felt said, turning around to see what happened. Apparently someone was shooting up a tree as fast as he could possibly do so in an attempt to run away from... something? It didn't look all that large, but size wasn't everything. After al, Uru was flatout tiny, but he could easily burn down an entire village in no time flat. With this fact mind, Felt ran towards the tree in an attempt to protect the person in question from whatever the thing was. Of course, it wasn't like he could offer any real help, with both the fleeing person and the thing that was scaring him being far above his head and whatnot, but it's the thought that counts.

Saber

There was a moment's pause, before Saber responded to Vash. He was right, as surprising as the appearance of the... locals was, they did not seem hostile. Nor did they feel it. Though some of the ones slinking away seemed somewhat... suspicious. Still, the King of Knights could not completely lower her guard. This was an unfamiliar location filled with unfamiliar creatures. "They do not appear to intend on attacking, yes..."

She fell silent again when one of them approached. To Saber, it resembled a crimson, humanoid dragon, with armored hands and... floppy, dog-like ears? It was an unusual creature and Saber found herself unsure of what to make of it. However, as it spoke, it proved itself not to be hostile. He was friendly, it seemed, and rather enthusiastic from what Saber could tell. And it seemed that he was aware of the nature of this building and the challenges... this was a chance to ask a few more questions, and Saber was going to take it.

"You know of the challenges?"
Jakuzure Nonon

... So not only did the explanation... and everything simply blow over Kaguya's head, but she revealed herself to be some sort of magician by pulling a rabbit out of her sleeve. And then the rabbit waved. It waved. Seriously. How did a rabbit even do that? How did something like that work. Nonon folded her arms. Well, it did seem pretty cute, and certainly not as empty-headed as its owner if it could figure out how to wave and yet be a rabbit.

... And now the Eighth Grader was calling her Sarcasm-Amaterasu. "... You really suck at nicknames Eighth Grader. Anyway, Princess Airhead, you're not mak-"

And then the boy in the tree flipped out over a cat. Sure, it was kind of a weird looking cat, but he was seriously freaking out. Nonon found an opportunity, one to perhaps get away from the pseudo-insanity of Princess Airhead. She approached, kneeling down to stroke the slightly strange-looking cat on the back of its head. It was rather soft and cute, so hey, why not?

"Somebody's a pretty big chicken," she started, shrugging before looking at the guy who was talking about... a world of alchemy or something. Nonon jerked a thumb towards the panicking boy. "I guess he's from the world of cowards, right?"

Connor opened his eyes in a foreign land that he does not know of,"This is not my house..." He said in a raspy thick Scottish accent looking to the left and then right of him to see beach and trees. He stood up form the sandy ground wiping the sand away form his jeans and overcoat,"This is defiantly not New York..." He quipped putting his katana away that was form Ramirez the old goat would probably call him clueless or a pile of dung.

The immortal started walking to a building that he could see in the distance to see if their are people that could him leave this island.

The response from the various species of locale were about as best as could be expected under these circumstances: the worst the ragtag group got was a few sneers and muted insults. Sazh was quite welcome to the scenario, where he could walk out into a public area and not immediately be a target for the government law enforcement. The relative disinterest in the party was a bit of a relief, too; Sazh wasn't sure of how prepared he was to fight anything in this world yet.

But then, there was always an exception. And that exception came against the disinterest in the form of some sort of strange red lizardman. He was already spouting out his educated guesses about how the party were the "Challengers", as if this was some sort of destined thing to occur in this world. It returned to Sazh the idea of the The Viewer being an omniscient god, and with that establishing his own world. The creature's near-casual depiction of the consequences of whomever else presumably went into the hotel brought forth the other half of that idea: gods were capable of creating just as well as they were of destroying. That speaker's volume and dialect didn't really help much, either.

Perhaps it was something along the lines of deja-vu, but the l'Cie just had a bad feeling about this that he couldn't quite pinpoint nor shake off. So the best he could do was roll along with it; and so he did, following up into Saber's response to the red creature, "Challengers? So~... I guess the Viewer has been making a big deal about this, huh?"

Whitney was so focused on the rabbit that it took her a while to notice that the boy who was sleeping in the tree had awoken and also was calling her Pokémon an evil hellbeast. “How rude! You call my little Delcatty an evil hellbeast! It’s the nicest cat Pokémon alive, except in battles it can be a real monster, but an adorable one! And yes, you definitely are from the world of cowards!”

The nicest cat Pokémon alive meowed happily when Nonon stroke it head. It would have really loved to let her stroke more, but Delcatty was worried about the screaming boy. She started to move slowly closer to him in attempt to help somehow. “Maybe he wants to stroke me as well and is shouting because he is jealous?” she thought. Delcatty tilted her head a little and let a bit puzzled childish “meow” which almost always made her trainer and any other sad person smile.

Miltank, who understood human speech a lot better decided that she needed to get her team mate back down. She was rather annoyed at the boy about how he had called Delcatty, but he had probably suffered enough already. Her trainer wouldn’t help, her whole focus was on the bunny again. It actually made Miltank a bit jealous even though she knew she was always Whitney’s number one. The alchemist boy on the other hand was clearly wanting to do something. Miltank poked him carefully and tried to explain by mooing and pointing that she wanted to help the screaming boy. She had no clue about how well the message went through. Some people understood her almost perfectly, some thought that when she told that she was hungry she wanted some strokes.
