Wandering Fool Aeternus || Nexus Lunar Festival Affected Players: The Imagineer --- Her comment about sleeping together, and even her thanks floated over Fool’s head with his pondering. So engrossed that he barely registered her holding his hand and gesturing. Jeremy smiled, following her through the crowd. We are going to be trapped in this game until it is beaten. There are enough players, it shouldn’t be impossible. Ra wouldn’t have made this mess if it wasn’t. Briefly Fool pulled up the email as he walked, scanning it quickly. Those who complete it... A chill ran down his back. Bosses respawned in this game. Did this mean that only players who fought the final boss and won would be allowed to leave? How... Cruel. His eyes traced upward to lock on to Imagine’s back. She is strong enough to escape, even if I died along the way. But what about other players, like Moon? There were too many children in this game. He himself barely constituted as an adult. Fool sat down for the meal with a smile, “It does look really good.” He looked down and picked up a set of chopsticks, awkwardly separating them. It wasn’t a first time using chopsticks, but it wasn’t quite the same as being a native user. Wait... Feed me? Jeremy glanced up just slightly, seeing the food almost at his lips. Imagine’s face was practically glowing... How else could he respond? Fool opened his mouth and took the entire dumpling, chewing slowly. It was better than food he normally would be eating in the real world. First class taste. The amount of data that would have had to have been collected for just this meal was as amazing as the taste. A light blush covered his upper cheeks, though nothing like before. A quest appeared on his HUD, and reading it made his eyebrows raise, he ignored the notification otherwise though. “Here, let me return the favor-” He deftly lifted another dumpling- thank heaven for all those years of card tricks and magic. It prepared oneself for strange things like using chopsticks. Holding one hand under the dumpling so it wouldn’t drip, Fool leaned over and offered it to her. A thought occurred to him. “Imagine... Do you have any hobbies in the real world?” --- HP: 75% SP: 80 Level: 4 Inventory: Gold: 132 Deck of Cards Dice & Cup x 10 Bread x1 Flint & Steel Whetstone Canteen (Empty) Wood Club Pellet x10 Stuffed Animal --- Silver Soldier Aeternus || Nexus Festival Affected Players: Vick --- Yes, he had been lucky to survive. But he had successfully organized a team of players to face overwhelming odds. Originally realizing his mistake in coming here, Konrad had thought himself screwed. But, he could work with teams. All he had to do was look at this like a real-time-strategy instead of an MMO. Players were pieces, not individual teams. Gather the correct pieces, and you win. He simply hadn’t had the resources available this time for a larger group. No gold and half dead wasn’t normally looked on as a positive state of being, but Konrad didn’t mind. His goal had been met. The others had been understanding- everyone had been there to see it working, and to see it going wrong. Everyone exchanged contacts by the time they were gathering for pay. The experience may have almost killed them, but it hadn’t. That was what made the difference. Konrad made sure to shake hands with each person as he handed over their payments, it was important to form connections. All of them had just survived an easily fatal situation, and comradery was high. It hadn’t been the effort of just one man to pull it off, everyone had managed brave deeds. Before parting to go separate ways the healer used what little SP she had left to heal Konrad what she could, and he took the opportunity to go out to a bar with a few of the men, sharing a few drinks and some food, all of which were a bit of help. They spent a good hour or two talking about their brush with dead- talking to the NPC’s, and the other players still hanging about. It wasn’t just Konrad’s reputation that was getting a boost either. The Shieldman’s stand against five wolves at once, the Champion saving the healer by tackling a wolf head on... It wasn’t hard to get a small party going inside the small tavern. Konrad slipped away from the group later- he could have stayed, but the cheaper food was only useful for restoring health, and minuscule amounts at that. What he needed was cash. He headed back to Nexus. With any luck, rumors of their exploits would gain those players favorable positions. The teleportation system in this game was likely one of the few things he could appreciate about MMO’s. He entered to come into a scene of light, noise, and smell. This game was too in depth. Much too in depth for comfort. Immediately Silver went straight into what he was good at, social engineering. A few conversations later, he had heard what he needed. A certain Dark Knight was going to start a guild, a certain Dark Knight who also had taken on four trolls of higher level alone. Rumors be rumors, but something impressive had to have happened to start them. He wanted to find this man. With all the talking, Konrad only caught the tail end of the announcement sounding out over even the noise of the festival. His HUD told him all that was needed. Such a large reward... Why not? Even a fraction of that would be better than what he had on him right now. Konrad moved to the closest sign up NPC, there was another guy nearby, seemingly just recently parted with some friends that were entering. He could find this ‘War God’ later. “Hey...” He glanced at the guys username. “Sick, why don’t you sign up with me?” He grinned and rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. “I mean, sure, we are guys. But that quest has a nice reward attached, and if one of us wins they get a decent fall back.” He turned his back for a moment to sign up with the waiting NPC. “I just figured I wouldn’t be as embarrassed if I was with another guy in this.” Silver Soldier grinned at Sick, heading off to a changing area. “Coming?” --- HP: 36% SP: 23% Level: 1 Inventory: Gold: 0 Map (Mystic Woods, Detailed) Compass Lit Torch
