Sam was ready to fight, and Luke's ignorant anger and slanderous command only made Sam want to jump, but the challenge at hand had already been decided, father and son were going to fight over Luke's stupidity and Jaii's morality. Sam couldn't stomach letting the three of them leave the hallway, because Sam knew Rick as well as anyone else and he would surely jump Jaii if he got the upper-hand on his father. The thought alone pierced Sam's own morality like an arrow and he threw himself into action. He picked Vera up to her feet and led her around the corner to Rhea, who he took the wrist of, and then led them both back down the hallway into a corner room and then through an exit door into the garage. He placed led them over to his 1990 Buick and guided Rhea into the passenger seat while instructing Vera into the driver's seat. "Ok, keep the engine running, keep the garage door open, and if someone besides Jaii or I comes into sight, get out of here, ok." He spoke with a hurried, deep, but calm voice and then darted over to the garage door and pressed the lift's button to open it and then he darted around the front of the garage and into the front of the manor where Jaii, Luke, and Rick were present. He stood his ground opposite Rick on the other side of the shifted father and son, and he made sure to keep his demeanor non-aggressive. The only thing that could be worse then Rick getting involved, is causing Rick to get involved because someone else looked aggressive to him. Sam's priority was to keep the challenge un-interrupted by outside forces, and to ensure all went according to law, but he knew even if the law was followed, he could live with Luke after this, he would still follow Jaii's command and his own gut and get them all away from the Manor. He pressed that to the back of his mind though while focusing on the fight about to unfold.
