History: Buffy was born a Lycan, bred and born in captivity. She is the third generation of an experimental breeding program where mild autism was added to the gene pool of turned Lycan parents, which, her original owners hoped, would cull the worst of the 'pack mentality' and create Lycans less inclined to throw around 'revolutions', escape attempts, and other troublesome behaviors to left and right of their vampire handlers. 
During their childhoods, the third generation were considered a success. They were not socially [i]crippled[/i], but displayed a mild autism that made them uninterested in social interaction to a slightly higher degree than normal. They were manageable pups, not making much noise. 
But as they grew older, they displayed an increased confusion and frustration in regards to the social behavior they somehow knew they should be able to carry out more easily, and became increasingly frustrated and volatile, and not-so-very-happy with the vampires that had intentionally bred them to be perpetually disabled. Buffy, who was a young individual, was set aside and attempts were made to teach her human social skills. To an extent it was a success; but like her siblings in arms, she simply had an inclination to turn to the more primal parts of her brain where her human intellect failed her; the parts of her brain that did not communicate with those troublesome and annoying human words, but with more.. simple methods. 

She, among most of her 'siblings', were deemed unsuitable to continue the breeding program and Buffy suspect they were scheduled for euthanasia. But there was one thing that was interesting about her bloodline, which probably saved her life - whereas they weren't exactly social butterflies in terms of human communication, they WERE rather good at animal communication. Around the age of 12, Buffy was re-located to a different facility where she have resided ever since, given the task of raising wolf pups.
