Phoebe finished her sandwich and watched her new pokemon graze on weeds in the sidewalk cracks. She was glad she chose a herbivorous pokemon over some of the "more popular" species, like Charmanders and Poocheyanas. Those species were mainly carnivorous. Their trainers rely on either hunting wild pokemon or spending much-needed supplies on freeze-dried Rattatas. Twin could feed himself. Hopefully. Are weeds healthy, or are they junk food for plant-eaters? Whatever; Phoebe will make sure he eats grass and leaves too. Twin looked up and snorted. Phoebe followed his gaze to a faraway humanoid figure; someone waving at her. She froze. What should she do? It was common knowledge that no one on the Surface could be trusted, not even a person with no pokemon out. In fact, that made the person more suspicious! They could have some giant Nidoking hidden away in a pokeball, trying to get close and then steal all of Phoebe's pokemon and supplies. Phoebe slid off the car. Twin looked at her, waiting for instructions. "Wait." She said, "Let him get closer." She waited until the figure--a boy, vaguely familiar--reached about twenty feet away, "Stop!" Phoebe called, "Who are you?"
