Carbombya: The Spider's Cave Tarantulas instinctively shielded his head from Rastun's blindside barrage. This reaction didn't last long and he prepared to retaliate against the Astafanel. Fortunately Megatron had an idea after seeing the structural damage to the cave. With the spider distracted he overcharged his shoulder mounted cannon. This was going to burn it out but he couldn't resist this idea. Both Tarantulas' and Megatron's attacks finished charging simultaneously and right as Unicron's spawn launched his assault Megatron fired. The glow from the approaching beam drawing the spiders attention. "What the..." Before he could finish another though the oversized beam hit its mark sending him flying across the cave and slamming him into the wall. The explosion shaking lose several large rocks in various places. Grinning Megatron activated his wrist mounted blaster and fired upon a rather large bolder above Tarantulas completely dislodging it. Looking up to see the large rock falling towards him the spider could only groan in annoyance as it landed on its mark. "And that is how you deal with a really annoying bug." The Predacon gloated. "And just like old times to boot." Intrigued by this statement Brainwave inquired. "Are you saying you regularly used boulders as weapons? That seems awfully primitive... Even for you." Megatron's expression soured. "See that's the problem with you Transtechs, you think technology is the answer to everything so you overlook far simpler solutions." "Interesting theory but giant rocks aren't going to stop Unicron." The Transtech countered.
Thanks to Megatron's attack, the spider's blasts missed their mark by a rather wide margin. Not wanting to be caught off guard, Rastun still didn't turn his back on the now buried arachnid. He still kept his weapons pointed at him and entertained the thought of collapsing the entire cave just to make sure, but after a few seconds, he relaxed and the thought passed. If he suddenly bursts out of the rock for a sneak attack, Rastun can rely on his now available time dilation to get out of harm's way. Brainwave's mention of Unicron reminded Rastun that he has to read the file that was sent to him in its entirety. It had data on not only Unicron himself, but on some of his followers as well, the latter of which he still has yet to glance at. This information must be shared with the Overseer heads too, once Rastun gets back into his own timeline. High Command mentioned spacetime fluctuating in a way that makes communication temporarily possible from this timestream, but so far, there is no indication of that happening. The Overseers have somehow compensated for the Post-Slam timeline's unstable nature, making communication with their agents possible, no matter what era they're in for that particular timestream. However, Post-Slam to Pre-Slam communication and vice versa is still impossible for them. On more current issues, there is still the matter of figuring out what exactly will cause the Slam in the first place. Preventing it may not be possible, but perhaps steps towards a solution can be gained if the cause is known.
