Rhea stepped from the open front of the bridge to stand next to her helmsman at the helm station as she watched the viewscreen showing them moving forward. She had no idea what this ‘hyperspace’ would be like, especially since the Intent wouldn’t have any of the safeguards that may or may not’ve been required. Thus, she was preemptively holding on to the helm console to avoid getting thrown ignominiously across the bridge. A glance at Valerie was all the android needed to know to give a shipwide announcement - if the captain was bracing for acceleration, everyone else should be too. “All crew brace for acceleration” her calm voice stated in every section of the small vessel. As the pair of ships pulled clear of the chaos of battle, a great green rent opened up in space in front of the Hive, and for a moment they just hung there. Rhea likened it to a different coloured flatter looking slipstream portal. But the moment quickly passed as the ship half flew and half was sucked into the portal. The sudden acceleration made her grateful to be holding onto the console, as it was a moment before Valerie compensated the AG fields. Despite that, once they were traveling in ‘hyperspace’ it was a remarkably smooth ride, especially compared to slipstream. For one, they seemed to be going directly to their destination and the ship wasn’t shaking from gravitational turbulence. She didn’t have long to observe the phenomena though as it soon came to an end and they reappeared in normal space, accompanied by deceleration similar to the acceleration before. The moment Rhea could see they were in normal space, she was ordering them to undock. They had already reeled in the bucky capable and begin the manoeuvre to push away from the Hive when the communication came through requesting it. Once the vessel had completed the elegant AG field assisted manoeuvre Rhea spoke again. “Damage report?” The response came in the unusual chittering yet musical voice of Rhea’s Than lieutenant, Mirrors of Starlight. “Slipstream drive is still inoperable, engineering reports it should be online in two hours. Hull damage is already being repaired. Missile supplies are plentiful, but we’ve lost over fifty percent of our drones.” Rhea was concerned about that, drone cover was important to the ship and having a high attrition rate on them would make resupplying slower. “Very good Mirrors. Tell Engineering they have an hour. Valerie, I need you to keep an eye out for any unusual energy signatures, anything that might resemble another ship exiting whatever kind of FTL they use. We could use more allies. In particular, keep an eye out for the Aurora and the Icarus if you can.” “I’ll do my best, but I won’t guarantee anything.” Hologram Valerie answered.
