Jace couldn’t help but be a little surprised as the demon attacking them suddenly exploded. The sound of the rain had all but blocked out his partner’s verse, luckily though it was still enough to do some serious damage. He let out a sigh of relief as he shook his arms, trying to get the feeling back after blocking the attacks. He couldn’t help but laugh a bit at his partners remark. “Luckily for us, you can take out the big ones like that. It would have taken me ages to even dint the thing.” He said as he smiled to the boy. He whistled loudly as they made their way to the door, alerting his wolves that were sniffing the tiny demons, of their departure. As they ran through the door, Jace turned, slamming it closed and bashing off the doorknob with his shield. He wasn’t sure if demons could use doorknobs, but it seemed like it might slow them down a bit. “Lets try the other building!” Jace yelled as they descended the stairs. He took the lead and turned right as they reached the bottom of the stairs. He noticed the door to the hallway connecting the buildings seemed relatively untouched, so it was safe to assume that there would be minimal enemies that way. He quickly opened the door and glanced behind to make sure his partner was still following. “Come on, lets gooo!”He yelled as he ran into the hallway. He glanced out the windows as he ran to see that the grounds had become covered in demons. “Fuck me…” He said as he managed to look away from the chaos outside and focus on the task at hand. He barged through the door and held it open as his partner and his familiars made their way through. Without even checking if they had been followed he closed the door and rested his back against it. He was worn out from all the running and fighting. Using his shield and his familiars together always took a toll on him, so he needed a second to catch his breath. He let out a deep sigh as he looked over to his partner. “Sorry man, I just need a second.” He said as he softly panted, trying to regain his composure. He reached into his vest and patted his familiar, which seemed to be feeling a bit better. She hopped out onto his shoulder and took a perch there. His wolves had set off to check the surroundings to make sure they wouldn’t be caught off guard. He could hear the sounds of fighting above them, so it was safe to say they were in the right building. He set his shield to the side as he grabbed a little bottle out of his pocket and took a swig. He always carried around this little mixture of plants, seeds and water. Tasted like dirt and smelt worse, but boy did it give you energy. He let out a pained sigh as he finished it off and put the bottle back. “Right.” He said as he stood back up from the door and looked around. “It seems as though there are people in this building” He said as he glanced to his partner. “The smartest thing to do right now would be to group up. I say we go get them” He said with an enthusiastic grin. If they were to get together, they might just be able to make it through this.
