I wasn't the one to bring it up. Did you skip past the post I was responding to?

Did you skip past this part:

"Hence why I do not really look at past events as this is definitely an alternate history and the past as we know it has pretty much been thrown out the window and am enjoying it for what it is instead of nitpicking. I could nitpick for days about some of the decisions but why bother as this is fiction and for fun."

He mentioned it in passing. You decided to dedicate your post to it. For the love of all that is good, just let that Victoria thing die already.

I am happy to let Victoria die, hence why I didn't bring it up. Bigscreech intended to use Victoria as a benchmark to assess whether something in this roleplay is realistic or not. I corrected his use of it as a benchmark.

It's illogical to say, "Well, this is wrong, but someone's done worse before, so it's okay".

I threw it out there just to state that there is no point in nit picking as this rp long deviated from the proper historicaltimeline and am asserting it is pointless to nitpick on history as we know it as it is an alternative history and damn near anything can happen.

We aren't nitpicking on the fact that there is alternate history taking place. The main issue that a fair number of us have had for a while is the fact that a lot of the decisions made that have led to the alternate history doesn't make any sense and gives little or no consequence when there should be.

I fundamentally disagree. The fact that unrealistic decisions have been made in the past makes it more necessary to make realistic decisions in the future, to avoid the roleplay falling further and further out of the realm of sanity. When you leave your door unlocked and someone breaks into your house at night and steals your TV, the logical response isn't to leave your door open the next night and let the burglars take what they wish. The logical response is to lock your damn doors next time.

I'm just going to say one thing on the matter because this argument has been going on since the Victoria thing. After this I'm done making any response to nitpicking/realism/complaints.

Number 1, Yes it was a mistake regarding the whole Victoria thing and I take responsibility for that. It was not realistic and we did our best to get it resolved. Fine. That's over and done with. We have fixed it. No reason to keep bringing it up.

Number 2, What y'all are asking for is for Outcast to put a helluva lot more time into this than he already has. If you want something hyper-realistic, go play a Paradox game. The simple fact is that Outcast is not able to account for every little detail and that is perfectly fine. He is putting a ton of time into what has been put up and to have all this other stuff would add even more of a work load upon him. Outcast is the GM. It is perfectly fine to respectfully ask questions about something like stats details being wrong or misread orders or technical stuff, but regarding all this other stuff...give the guy a break. He is writing the Updates. He is the GM. Which means that what has happened is the correct response and even if it might not fit "history" the fact of the matter is that Outcast is the authority over what happens. If you don't like it you can leave.

Number 3; If you really have a problem with the decisions being made, either A. Leave. B. Accept it and be silent about it. If it is an Issue Outcast will address it. You aren't the GM. And C. Offer helpful and respectful advice if someone asks. If thinks happen...deal with it. Don't bitch.

If people made more realistic decisions there would be less overall for Outcast to do, not more.

Nex... You cannot simply accept a statement. Every single post I have seen you make is somehow contradictory/defensive/insulting. I'm asking you to do A or B kindly. Complaining about these things are going to change nothing. Outcast has made his decisions and you are detracting from the enjoyment of the game by constantly complaining. So please....A or B.

@Giant, Touche. But it made the point :P

God fucking damnit. Why do you bring back when Pasta made a big mistake? I mean he ruined GREAT BRITIAN, but hey it's just a "game" after all. Well, Nex can really say what he really wants to say. He can bitch at the fact that Brazil hasn't rebel since I freed the slave, or the fact that Victoria was crazy (either she wasn't and she made the British Empire even more strong until WW1). I'm just saying that he is allowed to say anything that he is feeling. and I think that Pasta made one of the dumbest and biggest mistakes within a WiR RP, but hey everyone makes mistakes after all. Right?

I concur.

I also don't believe there is anything "hyper-realistic" about what our concerns are in the first place. Nobody here expects the RP to follow in line with history, as WiRs are meant to deviate from the normal course of things. Except it happens in a manner which doesn't border on insanity and if something huge happens that doesn't make a whole lot of sense there should be consequences behind doing so. Many things that call for such have rarely been addressed properly, or if addressed got off extremely easily.

Not when it's wrong.

@Rare: This isn't about Victoria. I am glad that situation was resolved, and I don't have anything else to say about it.

Fellas, I know this will get buried and nobody will read it but please, let's stop this arguing. It's devolving into something that isn't productive and into something that harms the fun of the RP.

I second this. Both sides are just spewing poison at each other, which is not at all healthy for this RP.

@Rare, Ruined Great Britain? How exactly? The Nation is still there. If you by ruined you mean that its not going according to History then feel free to take it as ruined. And quite frankly people are allowed to say what they want to say, but it does not make it right. Pages and pages have been devoted in this thread due to people complaining and nitpicking. I'm quite frankly tired of it. It has made this game tedious and devoid of enjoyment. So if everone would kindly shut up about all this it would be appreciated it.

@Narco, Your definition of insanity is different than mind. I took that rule to mean no breaking the fourth wall/doing things that don't make sense Real Life. You take it to mean that things have to happen a certain way.

@Nex, There is a little thing called choosing your battles and humility. It's how people work together to achieve better things.

I'm done. Only expect me to post in the IC or Allied forums.

Pasta, I agree with your interpretation of the rule. Our opinions differer when it comes to what things we consider would make sense in real life.

There's something called common courtesy. There's a fundamental difference between "I think this was way too unrealistic. Perhaps next time, you should consider X, Y, and Z..." and "You're completely fucking stupid. You are X, Y, Z, and I think you're ruining this game."

Like, holy hell. Some of you people need to go outside or something because this is no way that a normal person interacts with the world.
