Name: Firstname: Katarina “RNG” Villgren
Appearance:
Anything different from picture above?: She has a small acne and light scars all around her body and face.
Magic Power: Katarina can change her appearance. It’s only an illusion and only limit is that it’s must be about her shape, so she can’t change into a dog, for example.
How he/she became insane: Katarina grow frustrated with her inability to fit into expectations and she started to feel that living in general was simply not meant for her. In the end she tried to kill herself by jumping from an overpass to a motorway. Somehow she stayed alive but suffered a severe head damage, which caused a permanent damage to her brain, thus causing her mental illness.
Insanity Traits: Katarina doesn’t care about anything. And that doesn’t mean that she is a cold person who is always overlooking everyone. It means that she doesn’t care about whether she calls the asylum home, school, library, Palace of Versailles or asylum. They don’t have a significant difference for her. She calls people whatever she happens to call them and makes random jokes literally almost all the time. It’s like the whole life is an unimportant but entertaining joke to her.
It is notable that her intelligence is still fine. If you ask her what is seven times eight she knows that it’s fifty-six. Whether she bothers to answer fifty-six is a completely different thing. She can answer pi even if you are pointing gun at her, because she doesn’t care.
Country of origin: Finland, Katarina is a Swedish Finn so her mother language is Swedish.
Backstory/History: Katarina had always tried to fit into people’s expectations. Her parents and siblings were people who had everything, looks, popularity and intelligence. Katarina was just average looking, good at school but not excellent or as good as her family, and lacked a social intelligence to really be popular. There was a lot of rivalry between siblings, which worked well to underline Katarina’s mediocrity. No matter how hard she tried, she could never excel her siblings’ level.
When Katarina started gymnasium she somehow ended up dating the most popular guy in the whole school. It was a step to worse. The guy wasn’t popular because he was nice or anything, but because he was self-confident, good-looking and good enough in school to be approved by Katarina’s parents. There was no one who would have believed that the guy would be a terrible boyfriend. She used Katarina’s feeling of inferior to boast his ego and caused her to feel even more disappointed with herself, while everyone envied her because of her boyfriend. Katarina felt that she was feeling down for nothing and acting like a complete attention whore every time she mentioned to anyone about how she was feeling. She became to conclusion that she was simply not strong enough to have a right to live. She tried to commit a suicide, but failed.
People around her soon realised that something had happened to her brain. A girl which have been so serious before suddenly made terrible jokes all the time and didn’t take anything seriously. On top of that she was somehow able to change her appearance, though she didn’t do anything very clever with that ability. Her family was scared that she would destroy their reputation. They convinced her doctors to take her somewhere, anywhere, as long as it was far away, and that’s how she ended up to smiley asylum.
Personality: You can’t have a proper conversation with Katarina. She doesn’t take anything seriously, does things out of a whim and makes terrible jokes all the time. She also changes her appearance however she wishes, but it’s pretty easy to recognize her from the way she acts. Katarina never tries to properly fake to be another person for longer that minute or two, because it doesn’t matter to her. Don’t except her to remember your name, she doesn’t see why she couldn’t just call you with the first name which comes to her mind. She always talks in a polite tone and constantly smiles.
How long has your character been in Smile Asylum?: 3 years
Trinkets: She has a picture of her family, not because she wanted to take it but because her family made her to take it because otherwise it would have seemed (just like it was) that she didn’t care about them at all. Ironically they wanted Katarina to care about them while they themselves wanted her to just be away.
