"Do you know what this flower is, old friend?" The monk squat before a small green shrub, the occasional cream coloured flower head lining the top of it. A growl which sounded more like a contemplative hum came from his right, the answer to Ten's question. The faint smile which he wore most of the time became a full blown grin. "Correct, Protea Caffra! As expected of you, Four." The monk stood, turning to face the creature which he had contracted with not a year ago. The Qilin was a large creature, a bit bigger than a horse in most respects and somewhat serpentine in shape. Its thunderous blue eyes remained locked on the Protea shrub, as if still thinking something over. Ten reached up to the mystical creature, scratching and scuffling its wild blue mane; the Qilin's intense eyes shut, letting out an appreciative noise. Gardening club had ended a few minutes ago, but he remained behind. It was ritual for Ten to take time and look around the vast garden, to see what changes had come to the place after the club parted ways. The changes were always minimal, but over the course of a few days it was interesting to see what would become what. "Diversity and courage - that's what the Protea represents. Appropriate for this island and its inhabitants, don't you think?" With that small thought, Ten and Four left the garden and made for the gates. Each time Ten moved around the Academy, he could feel the lingering looks some people would give them. Not that he could exactly blame them, his choice of clothing and appearance were not exactly of the norm after all, and it was certainly eye-catching. A bright robe, prayer beads and a down right reflective bald head did little to help. Such was the case just now when he joined the tide of students leaving the school grounds. They could at least ask how his day was going, that'd be polite. Speaking of politeness, Ten weaved his way around an oncoming, sword wielding, member of the schools security team with a bit of a start. Were he not an avid practitioner of Tai Chi Chuan, then his rear would have most likely been introduced to hard ground. Putting it behind him, Ten left the gates of the academy and walked towards his home, giant hovering dogdragonhorse at his side.
