Right, let's get this life carrier issue out of the way.

For the sake of pleasing your beloved GM, could we just leave the water purification equipment as a requirement to repair? I mean, we have floating air ships, it stands to reason that we could have a bit of leeway on steam engine logic. Perhaps we could put it down to the generator being unequal to the task, and that every little helps? Getting the thing off the ground will be nothing short of an engineering miracle, but hoorah away we go?

Otherwise I'll have to allow Grothnor the thing from the get go- which I'm happy to do, so long as everyone else is okay with the idea.

Sorry mate, yes of course. I've been busy today, holidaying, drinking beer and getting frisky, as per the usual.

I'll be a bit more lucid tomorrow, but for now I don't want to edit the map using my laptop's touchpad. It's surprisingly (or maybe not) frustrating trying to do some basic things with such a temperamental device.

That's fine. I'm on vacation myself, but the weather's been bad today so I'm more available. Is it all right of I post my first IC.

Right, you've been added. Sorry for not getting back to you last night, I literally went off and crashed.

Maps been updated.

Skylar, in case my meaning was unclear, 47 men are looking for your group, on a mission of peace.

Don't trust him. He murders people. He might look all adorable with his pink unicorn profile pic, but IRL he's a sadist.

RUN, before it's too late!

How does this sound: since I don't have the high enough quality water for a steam generator, my Life Carrier can only travel so far (say, 5 regions) before having to stop to clear the system of gunk and replace the water, a process that would take several hours, as opposed to the high quality water which would allow me to travel to any destination on one stop.

Could always improvise a water still. Distilled water is pure.

I probably will eventually, but it would take time; a settlement with the water purification would be able to make it in a lot less time than with a makeshift still, and potable water is much more important to survival than distilled, so it'll end up being a low priority.

Distilled water, being pure, is potable.

Crash Site: 8

Items Salvaged from Crash Site: Hardcore mode: Are you a bad enough dude?

-Religious Texts | The Holy Books you devoted your life too, once upon a time. Perhaps the tribals can be made to see the “true powers that be”?

-Ballistic Armour | Boxes full of leathery jackets, designed to withstand musket shot and cannon shrapnel. Not very effective against close-combat weapons, but you never know if your countrymen from across the way will bring their guns to a knife fight.

-Beast Handlers | Some of those in your group are trained animal handlers, who either worked for the military or the law enforcement before the evacuation. With their skills, you could put to better use your domestic animals – if you have any. They may also be able to provide some educated insight on the island’s native animal kingdom.
Leader’s Name: Lawrence Goldsmith

Leader’s Age: 32

Leader’s Appearance: Tan skin, brown eyes and messy brown hair. Stands at about six feet with a subtly muscular, generally average build. His eyes seem scary from time to time...

Leader’s Former Occupation: Doctor...?

Leader’s Mentality: Lawrence is seemingly a hard-working and careful person, although he's actually pretty twisted at heart.

Amount of Survivors at Start: 56

Survivor Group Type: Quite a collection of people with no particular similarities outside of being refugees and human. A well-rounded and closely-knit group, though, due to how they came together.

All distilled water is potable, but not all potable water is distilled. The point I'm trying to make is its easier to make potable water than it is to make distilled water.

Distilled water, lacking minerals, is gross.

Thinking of making a spring off RP called "Stranded OOC Death Match" where everyone chooses weapons and fights to the death over the various aspects of usable/drinkable water.

As Grothnor said, and perhaps this is my fault for not being more descriptive, the water purification equipment allows survivors to streamline the creation of drinkable/purified water. It also allows for the removal of poison, and yes whilst most bacteria and viruses can be boiled to shit, there are some that leave behind toxic by products. Makeshift filters using sand and rock (like you did in school, if you live in a country where they teach you things only relevant to a nuclear fallout), will remove sediments etc. The purification system does all this and more, and quicker, allowing survivors to fully disinfect and purify water for drinking.

That was the intent, anywho.
