Gideon was impressed by his new mentor. The difference between the Garrison and MP Regiment and the Scouts was already visible. When death was a reality of your day-to-day life and you lived, ate and bled with the same small group of people for any real length of time, any semblance of formality or bloated egos was cast aside. Gideon loved it as few things annoyed him more than pompous, well paid officers throwing their weight around and treating the regular enlisted like children despite their own total lack of experience fighting, suffering in the uncomfortable conditions of the field or even working in general. Gideon relaxed his posture immediately and glanced over to his right at a female Cadet, about to speak. He heard the quiet THUMP of a fellow Cadet getting kicked in the gut and jumped a little, surprised by the outburst of violence. Once he thought about it however it was fairly predictable. Life as a Scout was brutal and hard and if you couldn't take a beating you didn't belong there. Still, Gideon decided it best to try and avoid raising the ire of his comrades in arms. "Hey, I'm Gideon." He said, looking over at the red haired girl (Naomi Falkner) beside him. "Most of the other Cadets just call me Doc though." Then one of his comrades decided to mouth off to the mentor. "Oh crap." He muttered, looking over at the young man. "This idiot's gonna' get us killed." Gideon commented, looking over at Penny and awaiting her infuriated reaction.
