With E = 10 points, D = 20 and so on. You are allocated 170 points to divide among them. You can place any amount of points in any sector, will be rounded to nearest multiple of 10 in order to rank though generically, although finer ranking will come up for situational disputes. Same goes for Skills.

The Magus:

Magus can join the first wave of first years if they can get to the school, via one of the gates. Depending on the factors it takes for that house to let you use their gate.
Each house focuses on slightly different aspects of magecraft as their speciality, but that does not mean that type of magic is void from the other houses. 
The House of Rhea are the most versatile, they specialise in the magic of discovery. Alchemy, Transmutation, Potions, Internal magics.
The House of Hel, are the specialists in whether and nature in its inanimate form. 
The House of Isis work around unseen magics, manipulations, aura's and the body itself and it's connection to magecraft.
The House of Tia uses nature as is lives, controlling plants, speaking to animals, healing. 
The House of Izanami are the forges, their bodies and their weapons, they excel at placing magic into conduits to enhance their purpose.
