Hmm? That only refers to if it comes down to a direct contest of who has more reiatsu. With her zanpakutou abilities being focused around power draining, and having almost stupidly high levels of raw power anyway, there's not much reason for her to lose a contest of who-has-more-raw-power. It was basically meant to indicate that her raw power is less 'captain' and more 'Kenpachi' (possibly with some sort of scaling factor as it seems variable whether Genryusai was actually outright stronger or whether he just had the most broken sword. XD).

Even if it was the case, she was probably alive when it happened. I can name three of the original Bleach captains that [i]certainly[/i] were, or shortly thereafter. Also one Lieutenant. But yeah, we'll see.
