The warrior caste are the only ones really seen since they are the only ones useful to the governments. Homeworld: Hydra-4 Culture: The Hydraxiens are really only 4 to 5 individuals. Each queen controls each and every drone she gives birth to, with the exception of the rare mutant in the bunch. The queens care little for outside affairs or for their individual drones, only for the Hive as a whole and their evolution. Whenever a new DNA is introduced the queens argue over how best to utilize it in the advancement of the Hive. Religious Views: While there is no religion per say, the queens can be seen as gods to an outsiders view. History: The hive was made for war. During a war that happened longer than anyone could ever hope to remember, the Hive was created as a last ditch effort to win the war. A living weapon that could adapt to any environment, any situation. They were perfect. Too perfect. After they won the war the Hive turned on their masters and decimated them as well. However this had repercussions as they had no concept of technology and were thus trapped on the very planet they were created on. As time passed the Hive grew, becoming more than just mindless beasts with some form of thought. With no way to leave the Hive grew restless and consumed the planet. Studying every plant and animal, gaining their DNA and adding it to their own. With no life left to study the Hive began to slumber, waiting for anything to reach them. When mining probes found what is now called Hydra-4, they signaled for mining corporations and soon after ships came. Unwittingly awakening the Hive. After initial hostilities, an agreement came to pass between the Hydraxiens and other governments. In return for the use of their warriors the Hive get to keep those they kill. Alpha is an albino by his species standards with red eyes, plaster skin, and light grey carapace plates. [b]Apparel[/b]: Skin and bones: The skin of a Hydraxien is as tough as any armor, the chitinous plates are even more so. Laser based weapons will have better luck seriously harming Alpha than ballistic based. [b]Bioweaponry[/b]: Due to the nature of the Hydraxien warhost, they don't simply "make" weapons. They grow them. Here is Alpha's set of weapons. The Hydra is actually a symbiotic organism that fuses with the right hand of a warhost and is fired in bursts of three by the controlled muscle spasms of the former appendage. Right behind the "barrel" of the rifle is an egg sac that holds the highly corrosive, carapace covered maggots that are used as the ammunition for this rifle. The maggots are about 3 in. long and an inch and a half wide with a pointed head and barbed body. The maggots will plow through unprotected flesh and tear through cloth armors but shattering upon contact with more durable armors and releasing their corrosive payload and making quick work of most armors. The egg sac can hold up to thirty maggots and more are created in groups of 5 every 15 seconds. Best used at medium to short distances, free hand must stabilize barrel for maximum accuracy. To this effect, the Talons can come down with extremely powerful downwards strikes that have high piercing potential against even the toughest of armors. However they are not limited to downward swings, the arms are highly articulate in which directions they can go. A highly effective method is to cross the Talons and slice lengthwise, like a pair of scissors. Cutting most opponents in half. The Talons are controlled partly by a second brain located somewhere at the back of the neck so that the main brain can focus on firing the Hydra. Activated by a specific muscle spasm in the chest, the Flesh Hooks will fly through the air and embed themselves into rocks, wood, most metals, and flesh up to thirty feet away. After the Flesh Hooks have either hit their limit or hit a target, they will retract back into the body and will be able to be fired again in about a minute and thirty seconds. Used primarily to scale buildings or tall trees it is not uncommon however for them to bring a troublesome target to melee range. The Kraken is armed with two heavier versions of the Hydra Rifle that fire larger, crystal headed maggots at enemy fighters. The function is the same. The Talons located along the Kraken are functional and deadly when used to outmaneuver slower vessels, taking them out in flashy take downs. The real beauty of this beast is the Narvhal organ. This organ allowes Alpha to travel FTL by harnessing his species inherent psychic power to travel at an imaginable speeds. Becasue of the force of the jump causes on the Kraken, it is far more durable than any fighter its size has any right to be. However sustained fire and missiles will take it down, a single shot from a cruiser or dreadnought will put it out of commission like any other ship. For reasons unknown, The Kraken has inherited Alphas albinism. [b]Skills[/b]: Instinctual skills known at birth. -Marksmanship -Melee combat -Tracking -Basic stratagy Learned skills -Reading in the common language -body language -Cooked food [b]Abilities[/b]: Psychic: The Hydraxiens are a highly advanced race once it comes to powers of the mind. When communicating to others outside of their race it is through telepathy, when traveling through the stars its through the power of the hives collective power, when someone tries to probe their minds only to wind up insane it is because many cannot comprehend the shear vastness of the hive mind. For all their physical prowess, the real power of the Hive will always be in their mind. [b]Word-of-Mouth[/b]: Alpha is what you would call a monster, abomination, an individual. That is his true crime, for being born alone. Alpha is a mutant, a fluke in the DNA that the queens fret over so much about gave him independence, a mind of his own instead of the single powerful entities that are the queens. For that he could never be one with the hive, because he was only one, not many. However unlike the other mutants before and after him who are culled on the spot, there was something different about him. Alpha isn't just some jumbled up sac of DNA, he was something so much more. He was part queen. Somehow the DNA so closely guarded by the queens fell through their fingertips and came to rest upon him. Finding himself not welcome in eyes of the queens but them having no way to kill him themselves. Alpha dominated a Kraken and left Hydra-4 behind and hasn't looked back since. Alpha is the first, the last, and the only individual that will ever come from the Hive of Hydra-4, now he just needs to find where he stands.
