I would say yes he was a criminal of a human when he was a human, I guess something along the lines of the process of becoming a pokemon is that backstory there. If not that, then I could just roleplay it out. *Maybe even that he doesn't know he was a human and being said pokemon gives him a whoe new look at life though he at times wil remember something, giving him a panick attack*
