After a few minutes passed by, the students who still remained outside would hear a message over the PA system, and a familiar woman's voice would say: "Attention, all First Year Students, please report to the Main Building; The opening ceremony will begin soon, and anyone caught tardy will be reprimanded appropriately. Don't be late." --- Once everyone had gathered inside of the Academy's assembly building, a face known to many would emerge on stage; Professor Ozpin. With a microphone before him, and Glenda Goodwitch nearby, he adjusted his rather tiny spectacles on his nose, before beginning his speech... "I'll...keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge--to hone your craft and acquire new skills--and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose--direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." Throughout his speech, the esteemed professor seemed...distant. Like he wasn't really putting effort into the speech, despite how important the speech was for the introduction. --- "...That's it? I expected something inspiring, Ozpin." was all Beliya thought as she watched the man walk off stage, unimpressed by his "inspiring" words. Shortly after the speech, she heard Glenda Goodwitch announce that the students would be gathering in the ballroom tonight to rest, and that tomorrow the test would begin to match them into partners. After which, they were dismissed; free to wander about the grounds until it was time to return.
