Well with attempted murder, a number of things would need to be described first. Like, did he escape or did you let him live.

How damaged was he when he got away?

Things like that. I still don't think that the Titans would let you join if you were to even attempt killing the bad guys.

Shame. Malice isn't a bad guy, just misunderstood. :P

Riley is essentially lawful/neutral good.

Malice is like chaotic good. xD

I would consider The Observed to be Lawful Evil.

I can see what you're getting at, and that is the point of this villain. He isn't like villains who just trash things or blow things up for fun/vengeance.

My reasoning for picking him as the first villain was because it shows the Titans that not all of the villains are doing that they do for kicks and giggles. His world revolves around the person he is protecting, and no gap is to great for him when she is involved.

I understand his reasoning. It's very noble even if he is wrong. He could be a good guy if he knew how the world worked. :P My point is Malice likes to hit things until they stop! :P

Well that's a huge bummer.

It does suck, but at least Vi does have the honor of almost being killed by Deadpool and brought into another dimension.

Pft, I vote the taint overtakes her body and she explodes into a purple cloud of tendrils that smash into everything and everyone, ending the fight and knocking most of us unconcious.
