Bio: 1LT John Hartstock grew up in San Diego, California, finished college and went straight to the Marine Corps OCS (Officer's Candidates School). He completed the course as the honor graduate, and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom six months later. Since then he has been steadily moving to secure his career in the Marine Corps. A couple of days before the outbreak his wife was killed in a car accident, forcing him to raise his son on his own.

Disability/Fear: After a difficult stint in Afghanistan, John was in multiple firefights and lost a few friends along the way. He has been diagnosed with PTSD but refuses to take medication for it because he views it as weakness. After his wife died, he began to drink.
