Nation App Name (The nation must either exist, or an explanation for why it exists): The United Euro-American States, or UEAS. Still commonly referred to as America or The USA despite the recent expansion. History (At very, absolute least two paragraphs, exceptions can be made if little history was changed and the nation is well-known): During the second World War, the United States was not involved much directly int he beginning, but they supplied their European allies with ammunition, food, raw materials, and military vehicles produced with the reawakened American industrial machine. Assistance was also provided to the resistances in France and Poland, with agents smuggling in military-grade weaponry and small amounts of raw materials for improvising more weaponry. Later on, they decided to enter the fight after a Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Having spent the time until then expanding their industry and building military supplies, the US Armed Forces launched a massive invasion of Japan. With vastly superior numbers, they were able to force Japan's surrender after taking most of the nation and conducting multiple bombing runs on Tokyo. However, they had not been directly involved in Europe at all, and the war there was nearly a stalemate. With Japan out of the way, they sent most of their military to England and began planning an invasion of Nazi Germany with the rest of the allied leaders. On January 1st, 1945, a full-scale invasion was launched across the English channel to liberate France. Over five thousand United States Navy vessels were involved in the invasion, along with similarly large aircraft and ground force numbers. Gaining a foothold in Normandy, they began to stream in the rest of their overwhelming invasion force. However, even with this huge invasion, progress was slow. V-2 rockets constantly bombarded the invading forces, causing large casualties. Then, on June 12th, 1945. The USA tested their first nuclear weapon at White Sands Proving Ground. Footage was broadcast across the world, and on July 5th another such weapon was dropped on Berlin, killing Hitler and thousands of civilians in the process. With the enemy terrified and disorganized, the Allied invasion surged forward. Just two days after the first nuclear bombing, another bomb was dropped on Kiel in order to hit the Nazi shipyards there. Finally, the war ended with the United States forcing the surrender and annexation of Germany. The death camps were liberated and occupation forces left behind as the rest of the soldiers sailed back to the USA. They assisted in restoring France and the other conquered nations, but refused to release their hold on original Germany, not even to their allies. This resulted in early tensions with the USSR, as they felt they had a right to part of Germany due to their participation in the war. The other allied nations said little about it, not wanting to get on the bad side of either of the emerging superpowers. Troops were placed on the border, and work began on restoring Germany and turning it into a worthy territory of the USA. A couple years after the war, Japan threw off the small occupation force left behind and forced their own Fascist state. America has since decided not to attack for fear of provoking another nuclear-capable nation. However, tensions are extremely high and it is doubtful that peace will hold between the two nations for much longer. In 1949, the USA officially declared Germany American soil and made the former German states official USA states. The flag was adjusted properly, and shortly after Hawaii was declared a state and the flag changed once more. This brought the total states to 66, at which point the USA abolished the Electoral System and began running elections purely off of popular vote. The Government system has also been simplified, containing the President, a single "National Council", and the Judicial Branch. While eliminating some of the checks and balances, the new system has streamlined the government and allowed it to respond much quicker. The US economy was greatly enhanced by the industrial expansion and reconstruction efforts in Germany and the previously conquered nations. Now, the USA is competing over Poland with the USSR, trying to win them over with the goal of incorporating the nation as 12 more states. Leader (It can be the real leader of the nation at the time, or someone else): President Fergus McClain, elected through popular vote. Space Involvement (A simple yes/no question. This will determine if your nation has a government space program. If yes, you must also make a Space Agency app): Yes Other (Anything not listed, go as in depth as you want with this, or just make a suggestion): The UFEAS controls all of the original USA and Germany. It is still Capitalist, but extensive welfare and healthcare programs exist. Of course, any American will insist that there is nothing "Left" about the nation at all. The nation is further divided into two "Territories", the North America Territory (Containing the original 48 states plus Alaska and Hawaii) and the European Territory (Containing the 16 German states). Flag: [img=https://www.nationstates.net/images/flags/uploads/allied_kepler_union__325038.jpg] Space Program App Name (Can be anything, as long as it makes sense. Historical agencies are completely welcome): NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) History (Two paragraphs bare minimum. Who founded it, how it got started, etc. No exceptions from this one. If it is a historical program, use the real history or explain why it is different): NASA has only recently begun, the official reason for it's existence is the advancement of science and space exploration. However, the truth is that the US Government hopes it will sway smaller nations into siding with the USA against the USSR, with the ultimate goal of absorbing as many nations as possible through the new doctrine of "Awe and absorb". Multiple projects have been green lit by the National Council, including missile programs and orbital satellite launches. The President has personally taken over NASA and has interestingly taken funds from the National Guard, Coast Guard, and the Unites States Army. Despite the unofficial reason for it's existence, those working for NASA (and even Fergus McClain himself) do not see prestige as their ultimate goal. They simply want to advance science, and if it means working for the military, then so be it. They have recently begun the Explorer Satellite program, in an attempt to be the first to orbit. Due to the immense funding given to it (In the hundreds of billions of dollars), they have been able to hire the best scientists and engineers for the program, as well as German scientists that defected after the war. HQ Location (You can choose a real world or fictional site): Washington D.C, North American Territory. Planned launch sites in Cape Canaveral, Florida and Huntsville, Alabama. Head of Program (Again, can be someone who really existed or a fictional character): Fergus McClain Organizational Structure (Government Agency or Corporation. This will decide where you get your funding, how important the board is, etc. To be a Government Agency, you must be based in an unclaimed nation, have claimed the nation you are based in, or have an agreement with whoever claimed the nation you are based in): Government Agency Other (Same as the Nation App): The NASA motto is "Ad Astra Per Scientiam" (To the stars through knowledge). It is used quite often at the ends of speeches, and even takes the place of a salute. Seal: [img=http://i.imgur.com/UNuwNG5.png]
