And in no way are any of my characters safe from a sudden or perhaps not so sudden end. You should see it when I'm a DM, so many favorite NPC deaths in one campaign, the players have come to calling it the campaign of pain, so many of their favorite NPC have died and some of them have narrowly escaped with their lives. I am rather brutal in my DMing. XD
