The finalized draft for Operation Broken Back sat in front of Lopez. If he signed off on it, he could have the troops on their way by the next day, ready to reap havoc on the Chinese country side. [i]"This plan may very well win me this war..."[/i] He rubbed his eyes and sighed. Picking up his pen, he prepared to write his signature, when suddenly he had a knock on his door. Putting the papers away in his desk, he called the person into his office. His secretary poked her head in the door. "Sir, I just thought you should now that UE ships are searching Japanese waters for any signs of survivors from Chinese torpedo attacks." He nodded and waved her away. Once she had closed the door, he took the papers out of his desk draw and ripped them up, muttering "I will never kill civilians" to himself.
