That's why we were supposed to have strengths and downfalls, super strength and super slow... or fast and agile but not much of a fighter... Most everyone, like Stefan said, has been keeping their kill counts moderately believable in consideration to their strengths... but in our condition and considering our weaknesses we listed things have to wear on us at some point. Like Hamster said, getting caught is the only understandable course of action when outnumbered by what back in those days would be considered a small army. Sparks soldiers could stand a fighting chance but a bunch of half starved and badly wounded prisoners with bare minimum armor and weaponry... not so much... Thus the reason Aevah is stuck under a dead soldier and too weak to free herself. With Shorus set upon by so many guards... it's highly unlikely he'll make it back to the group alive unless the enemy soldiers think he is dead and are too distracted by Spark's attack to finish him off. Even still... the damage done would have to be pretty severe for them to think him dead.
