Alice watched the man’s little performance he used to show of his weaponry. His array was impressive, but when he commented on his nimble fingers and the ability to give her the most pleasurable massage she would ever have Alice stared at him for a moment. She was in a completely serious mood because of the current situation: being thrown into the tunnels beneath Vegas, being separated from her brother and partner, and having her alchemy disabled. The abruptness of the man’s joking caused her to laugh a soft and breathless laugh that brought tears to her eyes and to slump against the wall slightly. It took her a moment to get herself under control, but when she did she straightened up in time to hear Jason mentioning how him and his partner communicated if their telepathy was cut off and complimenting her scent. “Don’t talk yourself up too much there, Romeo. Barnabas uses morse code, and I use colored gas from my smoke bombs. Oh, and thank you. It’s called Le Sweat. Now let’s -” “PEEK-A-BOO!” “That sounded like the little Chrono. She’s an idiot, but we should move in the direction of her yell. Not only will enemies close in on her location, but the others might as well. We should move now.” ------------------------------ Barnabas allowed his temporary ally to explain what his arsenal was before replying. The man before him may have been assigned to kill him and his sister not too long ago, but he was now in the same situation as him and had no choice but to work with Barnabas. Of course, this didn’t mean he trusted the man completely and wholeheartedly; any Asylum worth their grain would not trust another Asylum completely except for their partner. Barnabas only revealed what would be on his files to the stranger. “I expect the Kings to send their people at us with their alchemy intact. It would be the most logical strategy being in their current position of power. As Asylums, we’re all used to relying on our alchemy in combat and are all at a disadvantage. With that information, I believe we should proceed with as much caution as possible and attempt to - “ “PEEK-A-BOO!” The shout echoed off of the walls past them and back down the tunnels. There was no mistaking it, it was the voice of the young Chrono. Barnabas stopped mid-sentence and stared at his new compatriot. “That was definitely the Chrono. That changes things very slightly. It now gives us a direction to go in to attempt to regroup with our partners and the others. Of course, any enemies in these tunnel will also converge on the origin of her yells. That just means we’ll have to proceed with even more caution than before. I would suggest we move in a formation that puts you in front because of your size and shield with me behind you to cover your back with my firearm, but I understand you not accepting that plan with me being your target not too long ago.” Barnabas drew his revolver, checked that it was loaded, and then activated the silencer mechanism.
