Aether is also known to as spirit. 
I can summon spirits who never had a mortal existence, interact with those spirits... 

Just spirits from the underworld. Example: Fluffy dies. Alpha male cannot conjure Fluffy because he used to be alive. 

I personally think Charak is fine with the previous element. 
But it is up to you. XD
